55w DDM Tuning Kit
After I get the STAR lowering done on my vehicle now that I finally have some funds built back up after the first round of aesthetic changes, I have decided to go with the 55w HID kit from DDM Tuning (obviously with error eliminators) based on research and member opinion on the forum.
My question is, I've heard that with 55w kits - in general - the color gets a little more washed out. I was originally planning to go with 6000k 35w bulbs but I've heard 6000k 55w bulbs are closer to either 4300k or 5000k 35w variants. Therefore, to get a slightly bluish tint without looking too ricey for my lowbeams, do you think an 8000k 55w kit would do the trick? Any advice?
Thanks!

I used 4500K and I think they are white - with a hint of blue. 5000K looks too bluish and anything over is ricerish IMO. I only use the 55W kit in my vehicles.

I've read on here before that DDM tuning tends to fall on the slightly bluer side?
EDIT: Actually I now remember you were the one that said that on my old thread  should have gone back and re-read that asked a lot of similar questions. My only remaining question is that for the H7 low-beams do I need any bulb additional adapters? There was a note about this on the DDM tuning support page.
Also I have decided to pay for another 35w kit for fog lights so my setup will probably look like this - based on your suggestion and looking at videos online and color charts:
DDM Tuning 55w Kit with 6000k HIDs (Low Beams)
-H7 Bulbs
-BOW3 Error Eliminator
DDM Tuning 35w Kit with 5000k HIDs (Fog Lights)
-H11 Bulbs
-BOW3 Error Eliminator
Phillips Diamond Vision H7s - 5000k (High Beams)
AZNOPtics 5000k (White) LED City Lights
Do you think this will all color match properly?
Do I need the HID harness for either?
Am I missing anything?
Also, just a couple weeks away from finalizing the Miata, so I'll be sure to hit you up and join the forums you recommended when that gets here - super excited, and you've been a wealth of knowledge to me on both topics so thanks for that!

Nice! It's a good kit, you do not need the wiring harness that's more for vehicles that have electrical that can't handle HIDs the W211 seems just fine. The H7 bulb fits the low beams fine but you need to get some aftermarket retaining clips to hold the bulb on or you'll have the same issue I did where I couldn't get it to stay in the housing

That's one thing that I don't have to worry about (harness). Thanks,
I'm still waiting for HID kit from them, I have been try to call the store to get info but no one answer phone call since the day I placed the order.
Only 7 miles from where I live to the store (Huntington Beach CA). I may just drive down there this afternoon to get more info since they don't open on the weekend and they never answer the phone call.

I put 5000k 55W DDM tuning bulbs in both my Lightning & Superduty. Since I drive in snow I hate blue bulbs as they are worthless in winter. To me the 5000's are too blue, but not enought to be "ricy". If you want a slight blue coclor go with the 5000. If you go higher they are going to be blue for sure. If you want white go 4000- 4500.

Matt, I feel 6000k is perfectly fine in the snow and very white from the driver's perspective, maybe with a slightly bluish tint. It's all up to personal preference but as long as you don't go 8000k or higher then I think it's fine.

6000k Is going to be bluer than you want I think. I have 5000k w/ 55w ballasts and they have a ting of blue in them but just the right amount and do not look ricey. Mind you this is on my MKV Jetta but same set up (Using 5Five Ballasts and FX-R Gen I Clear Lens Projectors)

Shiny, you've seen my post about color in the other thread entitled Headlamp Questions started by some other member, I wouldn't call 6000k ricey at all. 8000k would be pushing it because you really start to reduce usable light output at that point. This conversion was done a while ago and I'm happy with it, the light on the road is almost completely white.

I went with 5000k 55w setup and the light still has a ting of blue in it which I like. I guess it depends on the setup, my clear lens projector setup might be throwing the color off a bit.
BTW you never replied back to how you did the LED rear light on your E55....reply back!!!!

I sent you a DM reply! I'm not sure if you're confusing me with someone else but I don't have LED backup or license plate lights on my E550, you're probably thinking of LemonSqueezy. The rear running lights are in fact LED from factory but everything else is stock on mine. As for how the whole assembly works and which bulbs can be replaced that aren't soldered, I'd have to look at some diagrams on Mercedes EPC.
