ANZ OPTICS CITY LIGHTS: HELP!

I'm having issues installing the AZN optics city lights. I recently bought 5000k 194 Wedge LEDs for my city lights and am having a lot of trouble taking the original bulb out of the resistor in order to put the LED in, can anyone help me out?
Do i need to buy a new resistor?

Wait...what?

Why is your original bulb in a resistor?

Why didnt you attach pictures?

Why is your title in all caps?

a quarter turn then pull and you'll be able to pull out the whole socket with the bulb. then simply pull out the bulb, replace it with the LED, test if its working before you re-install.

I sincerely apologize about this, my little brother saw my account logged in and wanted to make me look like a fool. I did order new AZN Optics Wedge LEDs, and they look wonderful! But thank you for the response beejaypunsalan. So basically, I didn't have any issues, just my brother trying to make me look bad.

Already have the OEM Bi-Xenon in there! but I am definitely thinking of converting my fog lights to HIDs to match the rest and keep the bluish/white color on all the lights.

Theres a few people here who have converted their bi xenons to HIDs.

Also, it looks really good when all the lights at the front are white.
Just have a look at Lemonsqueezy and AMGAffalterbach's set up on this thread.

I really do like the all white, but if it was a one on one, I like more of a bluish in there. Personally I like it more, but it does look pretty wonderful otherwise as well.

I'd go 6000k all around to get that bluish hue, 8000k is too ricer in my opinion. Your LED city lights will look a little white in comparison but I still think they look good but maybe your rocket scientist of a brother can do some R&D on that hahahaha welcome to the forums man.

I appreciate the welcome! & haha, I'm sure he would, actually I'm close to 100% sure he would do "an amazing job." haha, but from AZN I could only find 8000k, what I think would be absolutely perfect is 7000k to match, if only I could find that somewhere. Do you recommend any places/sellers for 7000k/6000k?

I've never really heard of anyone doing 7000k I'm not sure that's a common HID/LED color temperature. I would go with DDMTuning or Morimoto parts, the DDMTuning ballasts and bulbs tend to be a little bluer than comparable kits from other manufacturers (6000k from them, in that case, might be what you're looking for). HID fogs are the easiest install ever.

Nope, you do not need to take off the front bumper. You don't need to for low beam HID conversion either - I was referring to OP though as he already has OEM bi-xenon by the way haha, but I recommend everyone does it that has lowbeam HIDs or OEM bi-xenons.

All I did was jack up the front of the car (with the parking brake on of course), put it on axle stands, and take off the bolts that hold in the splash guard (right under where the fog lights are) - it's two bolts in each wheel well on the front side of the wheel, and several underneath the car.

After taking off the splash guard, you'll have access to everything. I drilled into the radiator support brackets on both sides (being careful not to drill into the radiator itself of course) as is recommended on the sticky tutorial on the forum. You then mount the ballasts on those brackets with the provided hardware, and I recommend doing an additional couple zip-ties to make sure it's secure. Then you just wire it up by twisting out the old bulb and hooking up the power from the car to the ballast. No stupid retainer clips like the low beams, just put it all back together and twist it back in!

As for the bulb type the low beams are H7s, the high beams are H7s (not that I recommend HID high beams lol), and the fog lights are H11s.

would you recommend 55W or stick with 35W for the fogs?

If you're already running a 35w setup on low beams, just stick with 35w fogs as well to have a nice matching color.

Ive got 55W for my lows, im just worried about 55W for the fogs, maybe too hot for such small enclosure, i dont know...would it make a big difference color wise if i get the same kelvin rating but different wattage?

Color wise it's pretty negligible. You shouldn't be running into any problems with proper 55w fogs. I've been running 55w fogs since day one with my stock bumper and now with the 63 aftermarket bumper, it's been holding up really well.

I need some headlight advice. After much searching and reading I am about ready to pull the trigger on an 55w 5000k HID conversion for my E320. Can't decide who has the best product. After 8 years I haven't had a single bulb burn out, and I'd like to get that kind of longevity out of the HID kit I get.

1. DDM is the cheapest ~$60, and even though others run them I get the feeling their quality isn't up to par, and the product isn't fully supported by them for this application.

2. Morimoto from TheRetroSource, but at $170 +SH it is the most expensive. Nice that they sell the mounting bracket and clear ZKW-R lens if necessary/desired.

3. German made kit from www.hidkitxenonlights.com. Looks nice, but no real W211 reviews, and almost as expensive as morimoto's.

Also hadn't planned on doing my fogs, but you all have me interested. Are your fogs projector? Mine is relfector based.

How much of an improvement is the ZKW-R projector lens swap, and is it necessary? (I'm thinking not).

Thanks for your help.

I can't comment on DDM or Morimoto kits as I don't use them so I'm sure someone else can chime in on that. They seem like decent kits though.

All fog lights come with reflector housing stock.

As for the ZKW-R lens, there's varying opinions. I was told by one of the local e55 guys that several months after the swap, he still thinks the gains are minimal and wasn't worth the effort. Others on the forum seem to be okay with it.
