Remote Key FOB not working (E320 2003)

Hi its been a week that suddenly my remote key is not working anymore when i try to lock, unlock or open the trunk the only way i can open my doors or lock them is by going to the passenger front door and try to push the buttons when I'm next to it, otherwise its not working at all if anyone has an idea please share.

I would start by replacing the batteries in the fob. Instructions can be found in the owners manual. Does your other fob act the same way? If you don't have the owners manual, it can be downloaded at the link below.

2003 E320

Mine ('03 E320) does the same, but I can only unlock/lock the vehicle from the drivers side even after replacing the batteries, I only have one FOB and waiting for the new one to arrive.

2006 E55 AMG

If it is anything like an E55, then check #8 fuse in the trunk (alarm/antenna fuse). 7.5A. If it keeps popping, then you have a short in the siren.

For mine, the #8 fuse isn't "popped" think it's time to go to the dealer for them to fix since im not too handy especially with electronics...

i tried changing battery on my 2 remotes and both still same issue i can only open on passenger side when im very close... any other options?

Have you checked fuse #8 in the trunk? As noted, it is a 7.5 amp fuse. Also, have you recently tinted your windows?

Key is recognized to start vehicle but unlock/lock does not work except when holding key close on passenger side, same malfunction with both keys. Batteries replaced, no improvement. Given this is MY03 my first thought would be IR receiver in door handles need replacement. You can attempt to clean them (see here http://workshop-manuals.com/mercedes...ce_and_repair/) but more times than not replacement is needed. They are incorporated into the door tumbler and therefore considered a theft relevant part (TRP) only available through dealer.
