Can some one please tell me what head lights are these ? Projectors?
My low beam lights are poor and I want to upgrade them with aftermarket
55W xenon HID with 6000K bulbs. Will this kit melt the light housing ?

Yes those are projectors all the w211 headlights have projectors for the low beam but obviously one uses standard h7 bulbs and the other uses either d1s or d2s depending on year.
I would personally stick to 35W less heat and 4300k as that gives you the best output. Is your plan to retrofit in a hid kit or change out the whole assembly?

Thanks samaritrey. I dont plan to retrofit or change the whole assembly. I am thinking of removing halogen H7 bulbs and install H7 xenon bulbs (4300K) and wire up ballast and warning canceller to the existing assembly.

You want to make sure you get a good set of bulbs as most kits come with cheap junk as well as a good set of ballasts. That is why I like the morimoto kit as it is very good quality.
You can get this with the canbus harness as well. I would recommend getting the car set to xenon present as even if you don't initially have issues it can save some headache later on. It is very easy to do all you need to find is someone with a star system such as a nice dealer (hard to find but i did before i got my star system) or an indy with one.

Give Dawn a call and see what deals they have going on. She did tell me that I had to get the 55W HID's as they would not interfere with the canbus system. Attached is what the old and new light output is. The cutoff is identical so you will not be blinding anyone.

I installed 55W , 5000K kit. low beams. Only problem was the bulb clips gave me a hard time. Hard to clip them and twist. The xenon bulb plastic base is thicker than the stock H7 bulb. Little bit of bending and adjusting the clips fixed it. Cut out is same as before as I had masking tape on the wall to mark the old H7 cut out

Okay, if I were you, I would save the money on the Xenons. They are not appreciably-brighter, if at all. You could get yourself some H7 Philips Crystalvision Ultra bulbs, which are pretty-white and throw a lot of light. I put them in my high-beams and it made an enormous difference. My expensive Xenons really do nothing but look cool; they truly suck at illuminating the road on low-beam, despite constant complaints to the dealer and constant assurances that they are aimed correctly and that the projector hood is functioning correctly.

The H7 HID's from Lumen Exports only come in 6k and 8k. I got the 6k HID's.

I have a GL320CDI with auto levelling factory xenons and they are very good. I am happy with xenon HID H7 5000K I installed and are great as well.
Every one have their own openions and preferences.

I've been watching the headlight discussions, because I'm not 'thoroughly delighted' with the throw I get with the stock halogens I have, but I don't think I like the crap that comes along with HID.... and I really don't like the blue color that some folks do. Those you have look very white. If I could get that with just bulbs, I'd like to try that. Now that summer is just around the corner and daylight is long and bright.... I've got plenty of time to decide.
