pics with rims -- help me decide on lowering!!!

Here are some pics with my new 18" Brabus replicas. The tires are 245 / 40's.

DO YOU THINK I SHOULD LOWER THE CAR?

Thanks,
Kris

Normally I would have said no. however, when I see the wheelwell gap you have, I'd say yes on this occasion. Definately at the front. it looks like someone has stolen your engine it's sitting so high.

You need to keep in mind ride comfort, impact on warranty, handling etc. but the choice has to be yours alone.

How about adding some chrome trim over the wheel wells and having the trim extend out to shorten the gap? I'd play around with photoshop first to see how it might look, but the right molding could be stunning.

Unless you are going for a 4X4 look, you have to lower it. You can do it yourself, its cheap, and it will look and ride better...so why not?

Epower, any reason you went with 18"s over 19"s?

Lowering wheels

Verticalflight:

If I were you, yes I'll definitely lower the car.

Why?
You purchased Brabus. I don't know why, but for some reason, 18" brabus wheels (like yours) seems like 17" in E-Class because of its style. Not mentioning your E-Class doesn't have an apperance/sport package. So, it may affect its look.

You may keep at 18" to stay comfort, but be sure to add body kit (AMG/Brabus/Carlsson). Your E-Class will look awesome. I like a car with sportier AND luxury looks.

Check the thread in the forums. There is one guy with E500 (blue color) his car looks very nice with brabus rims + body kit.

I think his nick is sf49ers. So you guys live to each other.

Okay, I am going to get H&R springs installed. I am going to keep the stock shocks.

Another observation -- While 19's look a lot better in my opinion, the 18's already give a bumpier ride than the 16's... and I figure it would even be more bumpy with 19's.

How much should I pay for installation? There is a local shop that wants $400 for install and alignment. Seems like it should only cost about $250-300 for both.
