Are you satisfied with the heated steering wheel?

Does it get hot enough and stay hot? Does it get warm enough to heat your hands up a bit on cold winter days?

No, and I also have the wood wheel so the area of heat is very small. It only warms up to body temperature, not hot. So if your wheel is cold like ice, it will feel like body temperature, but not hot like the seats.

I've been pleased with the heated wheel so far. It warmed my hands up during several days of sub-zero temperatures. This is the first car I've had with a heated wheel, so I can't compare it to anything. It does seem to move to a lower level of heating rather quickly, though. The heated seats are awesome, and well regulated.

I'm very happy with the heated steering wheel. It warms quickly, provides a good amount of heat, and appears to cycle off and on as needed.

I have a heated wheel in my Audi A6, and the MB version is far better, in my opinion.

YES

I love my heated steering wheel; it gets just warm enough to warm (not bake) the hands. The seats, on the other hand, are too hot for me, even on the lowest setting.

When it was working, the steering wheel seems to heat quickly at the beginning but then cool. The heater seats are definitely a lot warmer.

Now, my heater steering wheel will only work after car has warmed up for a while. Took it in for service, and at first, my service advisor tells me that heated steering wheel only works when it is cold enough. He was telling me this when we had days/weeks of 30s/20s degrees temperature! They finally decided to order new board for steering wheel, and then misled me on part availability (but that's another story). Hopefully, it'll be fixed when I get it back today.

I think it works well too. Remember its designed to heat the steering wheel not your hands...

yes, heated steering wheel works quickly. heated seats work perfectly, too. the only complain is the heated seats control is not like another car I have (bmw) which allows you to control temperature and you can run it as long as you want. (w211 has a timer and fixed temperature -- of course, you can press the heated seat button again if you still want it or press heated seat button on and off to control temperature but this only proves mb electronics sucks.)

KShortill,

there is no lowest setting for w211 heated seats, the 3-2-1 setting is a timer and there is no way to lower the temperature except turning it off.

Otto, sure there is. All you have to do is cycle the heated seat button to the 1 Led position. That 1 bar will stay on as long as you have the car running or manually turn the seat funtion off.

My only problem with the heated wheel is that it isn't working. My car must have been from one of the production runs where the switch does not operate correctly. I haven't had time to take it in to be fixed yet. The problem could not be that it isn't cold enough; it has been in the midteens here for a week. Does anyone have experience with having this done? I wasn't happy to see from a prior post that there may be a parts availability issue.

No, there is a switch on lowest stalk on steering wheel that is used to turn heat on.

Unfortunately, I did not get my car back yesterday. Service advisor said board they installed would not program and had to order another. Sigh -- another day in shop. It wouldn't be so bad if I had a decent loaner car. Getting a loaner car is nice, but my friend who has a Lexus IS300 always get a Lexus loaner.

it's good but the instant heating to cooling and then reheating doesn't seem right. it should warm up and stay warm until the car interior temp heats up to normal. it's not hot to the touch which is fine with me...just that it feels warm and turns back on noticeably.
