Not sure where you heard or read that info on Akebono but their pads are awesome. I run them on all of our vehicles (which range from Japanese, American, and British) including the e350 with e55 caliper retrofit. They hardly dust at all, very quiet, and stop the car in a very predicable way. Akebono is actually made in the USA and are many car manufactures OEM pads from the factory, btw.

Measure them after making 80,000 miles and the wear was in 25% range, so with my driving I could expect 3-400,000 miles easy.
I don't know how you can measure them to have lower braking power.
"Couple" of times I managed to activate ABS on perfectly clean asphalt with good quality tires.
If I can lift rear wheels off the ground while braking, that is all I need

I have 2017 GLC 300 non sport purchased in September 2016. Took the car in for squeeze when reversing. Dealer told me it is a know issue. Mercedes has a fix but it is not covered under warranty. I would have to pay myself. How do I go about to get this fix under warranty???
