Car stop on the road...Pls Help..

I normally smell gas when I fill the tank...I saw somewhere in here before that there is a recall and MB will swap the tank and pumps....
How do I go about getting this done..?
Is this specific to some cars or a general issue with w211...
My friend that works for the dealer said he put my VIN in the MB computer and my car is excluded from the recall...this is contrast to what I've in read here...
Please advise....do I need to replace the pumps myself...but I'll still be stuck with smelly gas after every fill-up which I believe is a safety issue...I don't park in the garage when I fill the tank...the fume is always strong in the garage by next morning....thanks in advance for your help.

I may need to tow to the dealer....
I will call the dealer tomorrow and complain.

Thanks to all who shared their inputs and suggestions...
I called MBUSA to report that I smell gas inside and mostly in my garage whenever I filled up the gas tank. MBUSA towed my car to a dealer of my choice not necessarily the nearest to me, the gas tank, fuel pumps, and other components were replaced. I picked up the
car today....BackOnTheRoadAgain...
My friend who is a master mechanic at a Benz dealer put my VIN into the MB computer and said that my car was not included...which is contrary to what I'm experiencing. So, if your car is W211 MY 03-09 and CLS of same year and smell gas in your car OR after you filled up your tank, call MBUSA.
Once again thanks to all who shared other threads that had discussed the issues and the warranty extension....I almost ordered the 2 fuel filters and have them ireplaced....but I end up spending $0.00.
Thanks ALL thanks MBUSA....
what a nice Christmas present....the only cost was my rental car....way less than what I would have paid + rental car.
cheers!
