i thought this was answered from your previous post?

https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...rings-bad.html

OP: by your post, i get that youre on a budget. you might end up spending more if you take the "cutting oem springs" route. shocks might bottom up, obviously your oem springs will be useless as soon as you cut it and other suspension components that can give.

save a couple of hundred bucks as lowering springs are dirt cheap on your neck of the woods and you can save on labor as its a simple diy. but if you still wanna go through it, id say its your car, your choice. but dont say we didnt warn you.

you will have serious problems with ride comfort and what not by cutting springs. i wanted to do that too but i will be buying springs pretty soon. idk anybody arnd but you can look up on yelp the shops and ask their price.

rest is upon you if u wanna take risk of damaging other parts and end up repairing. new springs are about $200-300. i advise, lower with new springs or don't.

dont your its a Benz, not a honda. Take proper car of it. i wouldnt waste my time writing this if it was a honda lol

I doubt any reputable shop would even do this.

He clearly doesn't give an F.

I'm all for the OP to cut his springs now. He doesn't want or need our help based on the other thread of all the suggestions.

OP. Cut a couple rings from the spring to get the height that you are looking for and worse case scenario if it's not low enough, just keep cutting until you are happy with the results. Ride quality should be better than OEM.

The old adages are still true.

A fool and his money are soon parted.

You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink.

Water water everywhere, but not a thought to think.

Just remove the springs completely for a harder ride.

Great DIY project!

If Bosch is too much, there's probably a local Harbor Freight.

Wouldn't that be an undamped system? You mind as well just weld the suspension because without springs, the struts don't really do anything. If the springs were just cut, I think you'd end up with an overdamped system, but not really sure because I don't know if the struts compress more.

It's a shame that MB engineers spend a lot of time and money to create a critically damped system which has it's trade off between comfort, sportiness and not blowing up a rim or tire every time you hit a pothole. It's bad enough as it as without someone else doing additional engineering modifications without understanding what they're doing to the suspension system. Let's not even get into what will happen with the tires because now the alignment will be off. It also makes me wonder if the stability control will work correctly now that the stock suspension has been modified.

Well i say just cut em yourself and stick em in there and make it look like you have hydraulics on...make it look like a low rider. Lol.

Since you're close by, i can cut em for 150.

No seriously don't.
