What service do a I get for a newly purchased 2006 E500 4matic wagon?

Just bought a cherry 2 owner 2006 4matic wagon with less than 100k miles. I did a cursory check of things such as oil, fluids, all electonrics work. But I didn't have a code reader so I am taking it to the Dealer this week.

I am going to get service B performed, but asked about getting the 12 year service performed. Not sure if there is any difference between the two, but I want as thorough a check of this car as I can get.

Currently there are only only two things I see wrong with the car: 1. headlights need adjusting and 2. the hatch cover doesn't rise up.

Thanks for any suggestions on keeping this baby running, it is by far the best mercedes I have owned, and I have owned a lot.

No thoughts on the what I should get checked at my service?

FWIW I reset the computer and the headlights are now properly adjusted! So that's good.

Any additional input is welcomed.

Flex discs, differential fluid change, SBC brake flush, replace spark plugs and wires, tranny fluid change, air and cabin filters, front suspension components check (ball joints, control arms, etc.), battery voltage check (both main and auxiliary), brake pad and rotor check.

When a I bought my car in November of 2016 it had 86k miles on it.
I went ahead and changed ALL of the fluids.
Engine oil, brake, tranny, differential, power steering, radiator coolant.
Not sure if I forgot anything.

See attachments for MB service sheet baseline, cargo cover, and headlights bi-xenon best to find someone with STAR (MB diagnostics) for precise adjustment.

Check to see if silver on command will open disc changer...Check armrest verify that you have the PUK?
also verify if your aux is working (glovebox)but you'll need a aux cable to connect your phone, look for aux on command screen and enjoy some music. Welcome to the club.

Thank you gang!

So I am at the dealer and my car hasn’t been to the dealer since 2011. So I am going to work my way through the service levels. So rather than do B service, I am getting the oil, power steering, brake, coolant changed today along with having them do a once over to see if there is anything else wrong, basically a service B without the tire rotation and a few additional fluid changes.

Once they tell me if anything else is wrong, then I will hit the list going in order of;
Suspension $???
Transmission $500
spark plugs $700

Then I will start with the regular A/B service how does this sound? I want to have an MB service history on this car so that I can keep its value up.

Thank you again.

You may want to check around your area for a good indie mechanic that specializes in German cars. You'll save yourself a ton of money in the long run staying away from the dealer. Not sure how much wrenching you've done but replacing the spark plugs and wires is not that difficult - I did mine on a Saturday and it ended up costing less than $300. There's a number of good DIY articles on these forums covering a wide range of repairs.

It's also worth mentioning that if your car has the Ipod plug in the glove box it may be hooked up instead of the aux input. You can only have one hooked up at a time and I believe the Ipod one is hooked up from the factory. To swap them you have to pull the stereo out and you'll see the aux one danging behind it. It took me awhile to figure out why my aux input wasn't working on my E63, I figured they both would work. It's a stupid way to do things if you ask me.

Pulling the stereo isn't that hard and you should be able to swap them within 30 minutes taking your time. There are some videos on Youtube that show how to get the stereo out.

Very much this. Around here the dealer costs well over twice what the indy shop I use does. I trust the indy a lot more as well. You can also usually find parts cheaper online compared to what a dealer or shop would charge for the same thing.

soholingo, where are you located? It'd help if you put your location in your profile.

There's no such thing as keeping it's value up. You mind as well take the advice of others here and find a good indy. You'll save a lot more at the indy than anything you might make by trying to keep the value up. I think I had my plugs changed for around $100, plugs were a little over $50 online for NGK and the indy charged $50 to do it. It was pretty simple and I probably could have done it in retrospect, but he was doing a few other things at the time so I let him do it as I was feeling lazy.
