2008 E350 4matic brake caliper questions

Hey so im trying to R&R my front wheel bearing and the brake caliper believe it or not is giving me issues lol. So for sum reason i cannot get anything to remove the caliper guide bolts. On all DIY's it says 14mm socket buttttttt of course i have a hex head bolt(Picture included) does that belong there or somebody before me did something stupid? Also is it possible i can just remove the whole assembly by the bracket instead?

The bolt directly below that hex head caliper mounting bolt, would be the caliper bracket mounting bolt. Which would be the 14mm it tells you to remove online. Just remove the two 14mm bolts holding the entire caliper bracket to the spindle and go on your way.

And yes, the hex bolt is what is supposed to be there for the caliper mounting bolt. Thats normal.

That sounds correct. I should have known better than thinking they were 14mm. That's my mistake. Glad you got it figured out!!

No, the 4matic cars the bearings is pressed into the spindle, and then the hub flange is pressed into the bearing. You will have to pull the entire spindle and take it into a shop to have them press the old bearing out, and the new bearing into the spindle, then the hub into the bearing. (assuming you dont know anyone with a press)

Detach the lower and upper ball joints from the spindle, as well as the tie rod and the stabilizer bar link. Then you should be able to remove the entire spindle/bearing/hub assembly.
