MP3 CD Changer available
Now you can order the new MP3 CD Changer. Here is the part #: B6 782 40 59. It will replace the original CD changer.
Price? 440 EURO
I will get mine this week. It will show ID Tags both in cluster and on the COMAND screen. Will post pics when installed. Should also work for APS50. See no reason why it should not work on US cars.

...Scorchie has that in his car for a couple of weeks already as well...it does list the songs an artists but does not list the folders that were created on the discs...

I also don't get ID3 tags on my COMAND screen or my instrument cluster, with either the Euro COMAND or the US COMAND.

What about CD TEXT? Does the European MP3 changer continue to show CD TEXT?

This may be a stupid question but are the CD changers of a standard size? I have an 04 SL500 and would love that changer but not sure if it will fit...

with all those electronic add ons and options, are you completely bug free or do you have niggling problems, ever been in service. It seems to me that with all those options its a disaster waiting to happen

since i've had the only real problems i've had is the car pulls to the right. they cant seem to get that right for anyhting.

I just ordered this, $750 CDN and it is heavily back ordered. I hope it works with my non-command head unit..If anyone knows if it will work that would be grat, it will save me the install..

Does this new CD changer allow you to load the rack with six CD's that all contain MP3's?
The latest upgrade we have that allows the COMAND to play MP3's is brilliant but only displays the Singer, song and name of folder. What are the full benefits of the new changer?

2.) Will it require a software update
The new in dash CD on the 2005 SL plays both DVD and MP3's
Whats the part # for both items?

I did command a Sportcoupe 220 CDI I will receive end of september;
I should have a Comand in it, with a CD changer because they told me the Comand of the C class is not
MP3 compatible (and it is in the E class);
do you think I can ask them to put the MP3 changer at the factory? When I ask the dealer, they tell me that the number (B6 ...) is a number for a part in the shop?

I will receive a 220CDI Sport coupe in september.
Can you tell me if the MP3 changer is available at the factory?
I did order a CD changer with my new car, but the dealer tells me the number B6... is not a valid number for ordering directly at the factory ...?

I think you are saying that your dealer has told you that the COMAND in the E-class is NOT MP3 compatible???? :v :v I can assure you that it quite definitely is.
My own E-class is a January 04 build and it has had to have a simple software upgrade to enable the playing of MP3's. All newly built 211's play MP3's.
I cannot comment on what the dealer actually told you, or what you thought he said.

Yes, you can load 6 MP3 CD's into the changer. Both the DVD MP3 and the MP3 CD Changer will only show the filenames, not the ID Tags. The CD Changer will only show the filename on the COMAND screen, while the DVD MP3 will show the filename in the cluster as well. Another difference: While the filename from the CD Changer will also show "filename.mp3", the ".mp3" is omitted from filename when using the DVD MP3's.
p.s: Your sister made a good choice. But Bergen has close to 300 rainy days a year. Heard about the English tourist that visited Bergen? She asked a six years old boy: "Does it always rain in Bergen?" The boy: " I don't now. I'm only six years old"

Also, if I read what you said right, the 6 Disc changer will not show the songs on the instrument cluster, if that is the case, that makes me angry.. I want the unit to show the song titles on the cluster so I don't have to look at the center screen while driving..

Funny you should say that she mentioned it hadn't stopped raining. They went on to Oslo and someone tried to sell them a horrible looking painting . It's nice to hear about this latest upgrade although I am not sure whether 'the boss' would want it.
