06 211 E320 cdi Not shifting properly and jerking

06 E320 Cdi. 320k miles.

Trans has been serviced regularly throughout the life of the car.

I replaced the TCM plug last year, about 20,000 miles ago. It wasnt bad, I just replaced it proactively.

Anyway, this is my daughters car, she is reporting issues, not shifting correctly, revving up and then jerking into gear. This has been happening on and off for about a month. Some days ok no issues, However today she called me and said it seems like it's not upshifting at all. (im not there to see, so I can't confirm this). And she said she got a check engine light. She will pull the codes tomorrow and I will report back here once I get them.

Is there a possibility the trans conductor plate is going bad? I'm assuming it's the original. What are the symptoms if the conductor plate goes bad?

Thanks

When was the last time that you replaced the transmission mounts? If it's been over 60k miles I would recommend a swap. FCP Euro sells Lemförder parts as a set of both motor and transmission mounts

Not sure why you would ask about trans mounts in relation to a trans shifting problem. Regardless, I replaced motor and trans mounts recently about 8k miles ago

More info,

My daughter took the car to a german car repair shop (not a dealer). They said the following:
codes:
codes:

p225-11
p228-11
p2651
p220A
p2386

They said it Needs valve body and conductor plate, and once all of that work is done the trans needs to be "programmed" so the new parts are "married" to the car. total for everything: $2600.

Frankly I don't trust them and yea that sounds expensive.
I tried looking up those codes, most of them don't seem to be MB codes at all.
The shop representative I spoke with was vague when I asked him about the details such as if the job includes new solenoids etc.

Ok again, the symptoms are: Intermittently the car will not upshift properly, and when it does it shifts hard. Again, this is intermittent. Car might drive fine for 2 days, then out of the blue it starts acting up.

Any opinions? Could it be the conductor plate? or solenoids? or both? If the conductor plate and or solenoids are replaced, do we need to get them "programmed" to be "married" to the cars computer?

Appreciate your suggestions. I'm in NJ, the car is in Florida. She recently moved down there. I was maintaining this car before she moved. If I can't find someone local to fix it, I may go down myself to try and fix it.

Thanks!

This place is a joke.
The life expectancy of a properly maintained 722.6 transmission is around 250k miles. You are well beyond that. I wouldn't attempt any repairs on a transmission with your current mileage, it's a losing proposition. Time to consider a new (reman) transmission, torque converter, and newest version TCU. MB reman transmissions come with a 2 year warranty.

Circuit board medics

Circuit board medics in Spartanburg South Carolina can and will rebuild the circuit board inside your transmission for under $300. you must have your local technician pull the conductor plate from your car and ship it to them. They will rebuild it probably within 24 hours and return it to you. You need to call them with the correct codes and they will discuss the procedure with you. This is the same work the shop is talking to you about for over $2,000. They have done many of these for me on Mercedes vehicles I have picked up at auction for next to nothing and every single one of them has repaired the transmission and allowed me to either keep or flip the vehicle with giant profit margins. They are extremely trustworthy. I have set many shop owners to them and they also Rave about how great their work is. They are rebuilding your conductor plate and therefore it will not need to be reprogrammed. This is an additional benefit I assure you.

You need to read the codes yourself or get your daughter to do it.
Marrying the new valve body to the car is a load of nonsense, the most they will do is to reset the adaptations which is a 2 minute job.
The tranny is probably in limp mode hence it wont shift up. A bad conductor plate will put it in limp mode but then again so will low fluid so you really need to get the codes read properly.

Condutor plate is only $200 new(oem)and used tcu on ebay are less than $50.
I'd pull the valve body, clean it, and replace orings. I think the spring breakage is an issue with earlier boxes. If you have more than 10 year on the board. Replace it and the bushing.
