I have some noise with door opening and closing for both 2014 E350 and 2015 ML350. All the search results point to lubricating / replacing door check strap.
However, I don't see one in both of my cars.
Did Mercedes eliminated door check strap on some models?
It looks like the noise is coming from the hinge mechanism. Anyone where to apply the lubricate on the hinge?

The hinge itself does the function, make sure the small bolts on the top of the hinge under the plastic cover are tight, they secure the hinge halves together and if they are even a little loose the hinges will pop and creak.
It looks like MB has many variations of hinge.
This is from my ML350 and there's no small bolt anywhere.
It does look like the bottom hinge has old grease where there is metal to metal contact.
Thanks for the diagram. Are you suggesting replacement of the hinge? Can it be lubricated for a few more years?
I'm not sure if there is sealed bearing.
The noise just started and it's one and off.
See 212 attachments front /line 8, rear 5. Sorry don’t have ML sheet on hand for torque values. If this fails as suggested affected hinge(s) need replacement.

Take those black plastic caps off and check the bolt underneath them. If that doesn't fix it then yes hinge replacement is needed. They will come unpainted as well, which kinda sucks.
