Auto transmission service
Is it advisable to get the auto transmission on my E280 serviced? I have read on multiple oil guides that the transmission is filled with "lifetime" fluid.
I have owned 2 cars in the past with the same status, BUT I have also had them serviced with a filter change and fluid replacement.
What do people recommend? Car is 2007 E280 with just over 84400km travelled.

Is this true? I've taken a quick look at all the PDFs that @konigstiger supplied above and can't see anything about new bolts???

Not worth saving a bit, and risk breaking the bolt when reused. The time to extract the bolt out, plus the pain
, is not worth it.

You can buy a garden fluid pump sprayer at Lowes for like $15 and then use it to pump the fluid into the transmission pan. It is extremely helpful if you have access to STAR to monitor the trans fluid temp.
Also make sure you get to the torque converter bolt. That will drain another 4qts of fluid. It is also recommended to change that bolt out for new when you remove it.
I honestly thought it was going to be a much harder process doing it than what it was. Lots of threads are on the topic. I think I posted a helpful link to the guide on the forum linked to another chassis.
