Kicking things off, a second look at the brand-new Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe (formerly the Mercedes CLK-Class),

Becaused it's based on the E-Class.
But i agree, E-Class coupe sounds weird.
I saw this car(Werkswagen, by MB) in my town(near Dusseldorf(germany)) and I can assure you, this car was made by the Devil himself!!
And it's so huge, you don't see it on the pics. When you see it in real life the first you think is "Is this the new CL?´"
They should Call it cl. Looks amazing, but has nothing to do with the old CLK. The old CLK in comparison would look like a smart.
I've seen some tuning concept arts of german tuners and i cann tell ya, there is coming a ****in great car!!

The new "E-Coupe" is actually based off of a C-Class, falsely badged by M-B as an E so they can raise the price significantly from a regular C and make a higher profit. It does carry over some E aesthetics to fool people.

Are you simply in denial because you want to buy one and can't justify to yourself spending E-Class money on something based off of the C-Class? Or do you truly believe this and have some justifiable facts or at this early stage, at least some knowledgeable people who will concur with your statement?
Sorry to disappoint but I've done extensive reading and research on what is out there on the car, and it's very much a modified C chassis and construction with E aesthetics and options/features, etc.

well guys, dont no if u'll agree with me, Based on C or E, dont really care, i think that car is just a sick ride
... I really love it. I find it much nicer than the E class.

I don't think MB copied Audi, I guess its just the new demand of the market. IMO we are gona see it more and more on cars.

It's called the C212 as far as i know.
Just like the last E class coupe was called the C124 and the one before that the C123.

In the day Merc built decent cars the CE was E class based, then came the idiot Chrimp and his cost cutting and chrysler ideas and made the E class coupe go away, and replaced it with a C class based coupe called a Clk. Now they are doing the decent thing and useing a E class platform as the base. All that should have been done is call it the CE.

The E-Coupe was tested in a german carmagazine. (Autobild)
They said it's based off the E-Class.
