No bulletins. Unless everyone in every market requests their dealer to report this defect/malfunction, even if out of pocket repair, nothing will be done concerning MB acknowledgement/goodwill repair.

LI07.16-P-070453 OCT19 – 642.8 engine rattling/clattering noise near high pressure fuel pump. #1 noise at idle and/or 2000 rpm, normal when in fuel quantity regulating mode. To check, disconnect control valve and noise should go away (will not cause damage to pump). #2 noise over 2000 rpm, reduce noise by checking installation position of pump.

Interesting to learn about the communications module. I thought mine was working okay, but the woman from MBRACE said they couldn't talk to it. So back to the dealer for a week of troubleshooting. They replaced the comms module.

Came across this thread after researching knocking noise from Engine..
My VIN is WDDHF5GB5AA025158 and it appears my engine number is 272980 31 237769 from MBEPC???
Engine no.:272980 31 237769 Major assembly variant: A 272 010 51 46 Part var. design.: 27298030 Text
BITTE BASISMOTOR A 272 010 84 98 80 BESTELLEN.
PLEASE ORDER BASE ENGINE A 272 010 84 98 80.
If that is correct, it appears my engine number would fall in the range of when this issue was corrected?
Are these bulletin/recalls etc.. honored even if outside of warranty?
Are these bulletin/recalls etc.. honored even if outside of warranty?
Your engine is within affected range. Xentry bulletins are normally only covered by factory and/or extended warranty however, in this case you can argue for MBUSA goodwill engine replacement due to documented production defect.
Need to have MB dealer check Vehicle Master Inquiry (VMI) to confirm if VIN is involved.
Basically erasing/resetting, see attachment.
Much appreciate the datacard, but something is definitely up there. Codes listed for AMG Black body styling an AMG speedshift MCT transmission. It's just an E350 so I doubt it there.
konigstiger: Man are you doing your fellow Mercedes owners a fabulous favor with this thread! Thank you, thank, thank you! Our 2013 is getting the timing chain tensioner updates done because I read about it here, and was wondering why it had been rough on initial start-up. The dealer also found the cam seals leaking into the wiring harness and our Maxcare warranty is picking that up as well (we hope). I can't figure out when the tensioners with check valves got into production, do you know?
konigstiger: Last E63 I asked you for info on was thrashed. I'm trying to find the Unicorn out there... Would you get the Data Card for: WDDHF7GB7EA846473 Please?
Thank you very much!
Scott

There is a firmware update MB is pushing: 2019040001 ENG. SFT. - SA said that MB was doing this to bring all affected cars within "specification". After reading some other's experience with issues after this update was applied, including loss of power, we asked them not to apply this. Just got the car back and paperwork said they did not. Need to take a drive w/o wife to see how it feels, but felt normal at low throttle on the drive home...
