OTA updates are performed remotely and do not require a dealer visit. Customers can continue to drive their vehicles. If the vehicle has not been driven in four or more weeks – we suggest that the ignition be cycled once to initialize the process, sufficient battery voltage may be required for the software update to be initialized. Dealer can check for successful update via VMI, once successful the vehicle will be closed on a weekly basis starting 3/26.
As part of the settlement with the U.S. authorities, Daimler will offer an emission modification program to owners and lessees of eligible model year (MY) 2009 through 2016 Mercedes-Benz BlueTEC II diesel passenger cars and MY 2010 through 2016 Mercedes-Benz and Freightliner BlueTEC II diesel Sprinter vans registered in the United States. US customers can call the MBUSA Customer Assistance Center at 1-800-FOR-MERC for any questions related to passenger cars and at 1-877-762-8267 for questions related to Mercedes-Benz or Freightliner Sprinter.

The US Bluetec settlement has 12 car categories, with different parts replacement. For example my 2015 Sprinter will get only NOx sensors, when 2014 E250 (same engine) will get almost whole new exhaust with emission components.

Good question for other countries is will MB voluntary extend the modifications past US borders?
Long dispute about it in diesel section.
This is probably a stupid question, but I recently purchased a 2010 E350 with faded walnut trim. Is there any chance a dealer will help me out replacing the trim per the service bulletin? I think I know the answer, but ... Thanks!
Chevrolet Chevette, Ford Pinto, Pontiac Aztek, Trabant, Yugo GV (and all the worst cars ever built)
Hhhmm... are wooden interior trims being recalled now? Unless it poses a particular danger to the consumer, or considered mechanical defects, then I see no reason why wooden interior panels will be recalled.
With that said, you can order ANY PART from your dealer for an Mercedes vehicle. And since that car is more than 10 years old, that part will be VERY expensive.
I had a friend who owned a 1964 280SL.
He got into a fender bender and destroyed his front grill.
His MB dealer said they could get him the exact same grill for his car... for $12,500.
Good luck.

Hi Konigstiger, This is probably a stupid question, but I recently purchased a 2010 E350 with faded walnut trim. Is there any chance a dealer will help me out replacing the trim per the service bulletin? I think I know the answer, but ... Thanks!
No harm in asking especially if purchased from MB dealer and/or vehicle was serviced/maintained by MB dealer(s) easily confirmed by reviewing Vehicle Master Inquiry (VMI) with any MB dealer. Present both bulletin versions 3 & 4 (version 3 stipulates 8/2011 clean point), your vehicle shipped 3/8/2010. If MBUSA/dealer offers goodwill assistance weigh your satisfaction on parts kit 2126801293 can be had for $400 then factor in labor (see attachments). If not, check http://www.2040-parts.com/10-13-merc...1293-i1334751/ - make sure offer is current, shipping cost, and confirm parts are new.
As always, I appreciate the information and advice I get from this site, but I feel obligated to give a heads up to anyone thinking about placing an order with 2040-parts.com. I sent them a message last week on their site asking them to confirm the price and condition (new/used) of parts kit 2126801293 and got NO response of any kind. I looked at their blog and noticed that the last post was in 2014. That made me a bit suspicious, so I googled them and got a LOT of scam alerts. If you are thinking of giving them your credit card information, google them and read up first. I have decided to look elsewhere even if I have to pay a little more.
