It's been a while since I've posted a video and I think I found one worthy of forum goers time. Motor Trend's CTS-V vs. E63 tests. Enjoy...

If you've ever owned a MB or BMW it would be impossible getting thar Caddie. But if you've never opened that door it might be an option. Personally I'd rather have a E550 over the CTS-whatever.

Wow... You all are lost if you think that about the CTS-V (called one of the best performance sedens ever by many, many people). Calling it flimsy is ignorent and I own a 2010 MB E350 and will still be buying a CTS-V. To each his own, but if your to stuck up to recognize an amazing piece of machinery like the V, you dont belong behind the wheel of any performance sedan. sy1616 a V beat an M5 which is much better then ur 545i, I have also test driven a V numerous times and read many reviews on them and one of the resounding pro's to the vehicle is how well manner it is around town, remember the car is not just raw power, it has increadable stoping power and amazing handing. The only seden that has gone around Nurienburg faster then a V is a $150K Porche, I'd like to see a 2010 E63 beat that track time. I didnt even mention mod-ablity, but I'll get off my soap box.

Materials in the car aren't top notch, and the attention to detail/materials, workmanship, etc. aren't on par with any E-Class. However you gotta remember, the CTS starts at a C-Classes pricing, and the materials, and luxury aspect in it are better than a C-Classes cheap and austere interior offering.
The problem that GM needs to fix with their Caddies in terms of materials, is some of the details, and button's, etc. even down to the dome light, are all typical, cheapo GM fare, while some other elements are pretty quality, especially for the price point (dash, etc.)
We all know the performance of the CTS-V commands ultimate respect.
However structurally, etc. the car isn't the least bit "flimsy". Tons of ultra high strength steel used, strong and composed chassis, great crash test scores and protection. Structurally, it's a solid car.

That Vid was a fun watch though. Looks like the Tranny in the E63 is just really maximizing its power, as the V only is a tick ahead in the 1/4, but traps significantly higher (showing its true power advantage).
Interestingly, in the M/T Mag article, I think the E really had its number in the looks department in those pics. However in this Video, I actually thought the V looks a bit leaner and more crisp, and even a bit beefier (thanks to that hood mostly).

True, you couldn't see the lines. In the photoshoot with the lighting brightening up that Blue, I thought it certainly out-did the CTS-V and looked striking. That CTS's Red in natural light just really made the car "pop" and look dynamic.
