Auto Dimming mirrors?
Hello all,
Quick question. Does the W212 have auto dimming mirrors? Not a show stopper but I can't see that it does from any of the info I looked up.

The dimming rear view mirror is not standard on all W212 models on all markets but probably is standard for all US cars.

my E5504matic has auto dimming rearview and drivers sideview. Not pass side. system works better than those I've had on bmw, toyota and acura. Have never noticed glare in rt side.

A piece of tape on the top middle of the rear view mirror to cover the sensor eye will disable the mirror. Not sure if this also controls the outside mirror.

The rear view mirror sensor controls the dimming function of the rear view mirror and the outside driver's mirror. A year ago, this sensor was not working in my '08 E350 sedan, so the rear view mirror was replaced under the extended warranty terms...otherwise the cost to replace the mirror would have been $1250.
