Tried a search with no success. My Black E350 has Metallic Black door handles and also windshield trim molding. Is this normal as some sort of cost saving meaure?

Yes its normal. The practice seemed to start with the w204 C class and has carried over to other models now. As for the cost saving theory, one would think it would cost more money to paint them Obsidian over the standard Black, seeing how they like to charge extra for the metallic colors.

I thought the standard door handles were monochromatic with the car? Any pics of what you're talking about?

This is normal for both C and E-Class.

Completely normal. Started actually on the old C-Class and is now on most all of the cars. It is slightly more expensive but the metallic black is better at hiding small scratches and therefore this is done.

They paint the door handles body color to give it a touch more luxury. If you go to Europe where there are Benz taxis, they all have the black door handles.

The 2011 black e350 I looked at today had metallic door handles.

My black 2011 has the metallic door handles. I never noticed this before. You need to look very closely to see.
