have fun with THAT one......LOL........

from what I understand the entire door must be disassembled for the sills
to be installed, that's why they do it in Deutschland when they're building
the cars, and not at VPC's or dealers..........

Door sills
Had mine done at the dealership, but I will see if I can get a copy of the instructions, maybe wifey can pull a few strings...they gave me A-pillar instructions before so I don't see why not.

That's not correct.

But the OP will need to get 12 volt inverters (unless they came with the sills.)

To the OP, check here for instructions for an aftermarket illuminated sill install (click on the file link at the bottom): http://www.formymercedes.com/mb_resu...l+Replacements

Also, you might want to pm MBWorld member "Shardul." I removed my factory installed illuminated sills and gave them to him. He installed them on his E55. I left the inverters in the car and so he had to get some new ones.

Here: http://www.formymercedes.com/mb_resu...0Sill%20Covers

Installation guide: http://www.isynergyinc.net/mb/sill/

Also, again to the OP: here's a thread that also might be helpful re: install: https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...installed.html

Thank you for all your reply. But the one I bought was an OEM mercedes, not from formymercedes.com. There is a difference between the two. OEM is uses EL light vs. LED for the other one. The mercedes comes ith a black box and 2 inverter. Installation looks fairly straighforward, just to fugure out where to plug one wire to get signal from the door. I don't want to splice the wire of the car, from what I see, there is a place to plug it.
This is the sill that I got http://valleymotorsmercedes.oemdeale...2577_31678.php

I realize that and it's why I asked if it came with the inverters. I only referenced the formymercedes.com product to maybe help you figure out the install process.

Again, contact 'Shardul' since I gave him my sills (but kept my inverters.) He installed his on his E55. I'm sure he can give you some pointers.

I know you said you found instructions for W204. Were these the ones and do yours look very different?

They are pretty detailed with photographs and might be enough for me to think I could take the job on in a W212 maybe after confirming first (with your dealer or perhaps on the forum) that the areas you need to connect to are in the same place. Acknowledgement to et0609 for the pdf
