4 rounds can be switched to hockeys, but 2 things you need to know before you start buying the parts (parts.com have them cheaper than dealers)

1. you HAVE to buy the plug also, the original round DRL plug from the car will not fit the LED DRL housing that you are buying. You will have to splice the original ROUND RDL wires to solder this new plug on so it can be plugged into the new LED DRL housing

2. after you put the LED DRL on, The Computer WILL complain about left and right daytime running light OUT. After a few seconds, the LED DRLs will then turn off. This I havent figured out yet, it requires hooking the car up to the diag (STAR-Xentry) and reprogram it to accept the LED and not report them as bad.

If anyone has any info on how to reprogram the car to take the LED DRL, or have other workarounds, i can really use that knowledge!

i'm no expert on this and just a blind guess. if they work the same as regular hid kit, you might need a code cancellor/capacitor/decoder . anyhow, please post some pics and/or instructions after. good luck !

I think the retrofit would fit my avant garde 2010 E350 sport

From the look of these two, it might work for my retro kit A212-906-0151. I'm in California.

My local dealer found this part from Germany and is shipping to me. Total $704 without installation. So far from the current 2012 E350 online and my car it seems to fit with my advantgarde Sport. Anyone have actual picture that they can share. Take note of the slanted inward on the luxury and the slated outward on the advantgarde sport models.

BUMPER REMOVAL?

Hello!

I am about try the straight LED retrofit for my E250 Cabrio with AMG pack and hockey style LEDs and I was wondering if I will need to remove the bumper for the installation and also if the plugs will be the same.

Thanks,

Andreas.

Someone needs to do the conversion and let us know. Also, in the pictures of the Straight LED vs. Hockey Stick LED, the front bumper cut-outs seem to be different shapes. How would that work?

DRL LED LIGHTS

Hello my friend the conversion was carried out successfully, the bumper is the same for 2011 and 2012 cars so anyone with an AMG pack can do the conversion. I will post the part numbers for those who want to convert to straight DRL. Its relatively an easy job and the removal of the bumper is not necessary, but the car needs to be lifted up. Youu can see the attached picture, one side is still hockey.

If you want my hockey DRL parts distance is not an issue, I can use express post that would take maximum 7 days and you can pay with PayPal, I don't have a price in mind but you can set the price and I will think about it. PM me for more details. Thanks!

Also for those who have round drl, the bumper is also the same.

sounds like a smooth project I haven't any idea of the cost of some used DRL's.....
if it isn't a pain.....maybe you could get a shot of the HS DRL's by themselves?

My car is exactly one years old, it was a mercedes demo and I bought it to resell it, its only one years old with 5000 miles on it, so the led lights are like new. I think they would cost more than 600$ from Mercedes new.

i'm picking my car up tomorrow from the dealer and the tech i was talking to don't care much about the hockey sticks on his ride. he told me he kind of like the quad better. i'll ask him if he wants to do a swap. if not, this is very tempting. you think they'll fit 2010 e550 w/sport (amg) package as well?

Hello from sunny Cyprus! Yes they would fit, all amg bumpers are the same, straight Led, quad fog lamps or hockey style all are the same. Its only a trick to the eye, when you see them installed it makes you think the bumper is different. I will attach some diagrams later because I am at work now and you will see there is only one bumper.

if that's the brand new price I could see offering around 300 for the set, but if someone else needs them, then they should have them.....I just wanted to hoard some in case I needed them.....

came back from the dealer and the tech wouldn't be able to swap his hockey sticks to my quad drl. he has the employee leasing program. he also told me the reprogramming is the tough part as they are not allowed to do this to anyone if the car is not equipped with that to begin with.

2-hockey Stick LED
2-Grille To Fit the Hockey Stick LEd
2-Plugs

Any Brackets needed?

Hey Wavey, have you been able to successfully switch over the programming in order to get the LEDs to work? I am looking to do this conversion on a coupe...the quad setup to the new straight LEDs

I have the quad setup and am also looking to switch to either hockey stick or straights. Anyone interested in trading, or anyone that has any for sale, please let me know. Also, want to know if it will even work on my car.
