New Designo E350 4Matic
Hello all. As my first forum post, thought I'd share some pics of our new E350. The paint is a matte platinum designo finish. Car is a 4Matic Sport with fold down seats (we will use it to go to the mountains), panoramic roof, P2, etc.

It's a $4000 option! Very steep. I would not have sprung for it if I was ordering the car myself, but I was able to negotiate a reasonable deal on the car and it had 4Matic and fold down seats, which are essential to us, but not easy to find in SoCal. I have to say I really like the way it looks. Distinctive yet not flashy.

A matte finish is certainly different. In your middle picture it looks grey. In the last picture, it looks silver. I'm assuming that the middle picture is closer to reality. Regards. Ned.

I think that is probably right. The pictures were taken at different times / angles on a day w/ variable brightness -- it seems to take on a different look depending on the light.

Great color and you will love the matte finish. My Harley is a matte silver (actually pewter denim) and I love it. I don't have to polish it and it never looks dirty.

Interior is a regular (non-designo) interior. Black on walnut. If I was ordering it myself, I would have ordered the dark wood... Would have completed a more sinister look.
Thanks for the tips on care. I found a PDF with some instructions on care (attached for reference) on here. Interestingly, we received no materials with our car re care for the finish. You could see someone making a mistake in how they wash it.
But some people seem to say it's not all that hard to care for. I think it may be sufficient to just clean with mild soap and rinse with water. This weekend, it rained and the car dried without any spots!

I thought M-B makes it very clear (along with common sense on Matte) to NOT wax Matte paint?
That's part of the beauty of owning a matte car, you don't have to wax it!
Beautiful car and setup, congrats!
