Is there is a limit as to what the insurance company will spend on the wheels ?

Whatever you do [as your cyber friend lol] please do not get those hideous BBS, especially in 18s. It will make your gorgeous w212 look inadequate. Also, If you want 18s, i would highly recommend that you search more towards silver or titanium finishes.
The way my insurance works is they just deduct the 1k from the total. So it was roughly 4k for all the work and they're cutting me a check for 3k. The BBS CH OR CH-R Black are much better looking then the one I posted earlier. They look very similiar to the BBS's the gentlemen just posted above if not the same.

I just purchased tires not to long ago which are 18s so I'm staying with that since I'm not swapping out my tires as well to fit a new set size. Normally I would agree with getting the nicer rims but this wasn't by choice to swap out my rims. So I'm planning to stay as simple as possible and def. not go over that amount even with the labor included. Sadly all the ones I personally like aren't even 2k combined. So I'll probably have some cash left over if things go as planned. I have an appointment to go to a rim shop in my area and maybe I'll see something in there I like more and spend more. I'll be reporting back as things move along.

Just to add, I figure if anything is left over, I'll use that to possibly repair the damaged rims. Then I'll have two sets and can sell one or keep them as an extra in case any more potholes give me problems. I cannot realistically see having 19s or 20s on the roads I drive on. I've already had 3 tires blowout with 18s as is.

Thank you.

The fronts are ET 32 and the rear is ET 42. In my experience a 9" wide wheel sits flush up front and a 9.5" wheel sits flush in the rear. 285/30/19 might rub on speed bumps and sharp dips on the highway if you are lowered. 275/30 might be a better choice. But im not sure about that, 285/30 might work without rubbing as well. Good luck, let me know if you need other info.

Depends on the tire size and if you are lowered.

You can fit plenty of wheel on these cars. I'm running 9.5 fronts and 11" rears

I had a vendor tell me that a staggered setup of 18x8.5 18x9.5 would still fit my tires even though my setup is now 18x8.5 18x9. Is this true?

Tires usually have about a 1.5 inch range as to the wheel size you can fit. But you want to be at the lower part of the range so your wheels sit inside of the tires more, if you know what i mean.

A 245/40/18 tires can fit wheels from 8-9.5", however if you run a 9.5" wheel [depending on the offset] it will probably look like this. The wheel will won't have any tire to protect it against curbs so you will most likely end up scuffing your wheels up more often. Besides that, it is not too appealing to the eyes either.

Thank you. That's a perfect explanation and gives me a visual of what I'll be working with.

Can anyone give me recommendations on a 19x8.5 front/19x9.5 rear setup for offset & tires? I just want the wheels to be flush. I've got a '12 base E350 on a normal suspension. No plan to lower....

Offset question - Can I safely go from my square +48 wheelset to a square +35 wheelset running the stock stock 245x40x18 tires on stock 18x8.5 48 rims? Online wheel calculators show the +35 wheelset will stick out ~0.51" versus my stock set.

I have an E550 4M - had off set of 48 orig. with the stock 18 x 8.5

Ended up with same 18x8.5 but now with a 35mm off set - I do have the airmatic suspension but dont think that changes spacing
- but here are the pictures so you can see how they look - still with 245 40 18's never had any issues with rubbing even with 4 adults in the car on Sport or comfort mode.

Front\Back and full side picture

Side view

Back wheels - The wheel is flush with the back

Top Front - sorry wheel is turned slightly but you can see
