Climate Control Details on Comand Center Screen

OK...I may be having an "out of body experience" and never noticed this before OR The new BlueTooth and Comand Software update I got last week added it. Regardless it's nice seeing these controls more at eye level, so you dont have to take your eye off the road.

Do you need to pay extra for the command software update? You have it done from the dealership?

That's a real nice addition, the climate control is the one thing I always thought was pretty awkward about the car. I hope this change is available in 2010's as well.

Interesting. I thought that '11's came with that feature already (or was it late build 11's?).

I wonder if we'll get the software update when we take our 10's in for service.

My 20011 had this feature when I took delivery. I would hope that this would be available to 2010's as a no-charge update as it is simply just a newer version of the COMMAND software.

Dealer did not charge me for it. I took hanjaya1's lead and asked for it at the dealership. They did not charge for it, but with that said, I don't think they will offer it unless you request it. It took several hours to do. Good luck. P.S. The blue-tooth streaming functionality is awesome to have.

What else is included, any other visible benefits?

Does anyone else know what the benefits included are?

Rich- Sorry, I dont have a detailed list. From what I can tell, it is audio stremaing via bluetooth, climate control on nav screen, new better graphics POI on NAV. Not sure what else, but would love to hear if anyone else has discovered additional elements of intrigue

BTW it will over write a ECU tune if you have one, which why I need to assess it. Although most tuners will retune you for free.

Can you just take your car to a Dealer and have them update it? Last time I took my car in, my Service Tech said that Mercedes is very strict about Dealers not just hooking cars up with Software Updates unless you brought it in for some Service work.

Kevin-No problem here. My Dealership EuroMotorCars did it with a smile. Good luck...by the way, how's the weather in LA, I'm shooting out there on Monday?

Awesome man, thanks for the helpful info, as always!

Weather is back to GREAT! It's been so up and down, but today was gorgeous (was in Vegas all weekend, and it was great out there too.... Finally).

Enjoy your time in la la land my friend, I gotta trek back to Vegas! Lol. Hopefully no sudden rainstorms or drastic weather changes start up.

I also noted that when I turn on the headlights and pull the knob for front fog lights the four roun lights on the lower bumber light up. Before only fog lights were on or daylight during the day.

I just received a software update from the dealer as part of the B service, but I'm not sure the version number. Where in the engineering menus can I find the version number?

As for visible differences, I noticed that my blue-tooth interface is slightly different, now offers a "boost" option under the Volume menu.

In the Navi display, I lost my favorite .2 miles setting in favor of 1/16th, 1/8th, etc. settings for visible range. Also, a couple of more options (like Eco-mode?) for selecting the default routing type.

I do wish they provided better documentation with the service order ... I'll go make this recommendation to MB on their adviser site now. See 'Ya!

I just spoke to my dealer (Crown Eurocars, Dublin, OH). They are telling me that I have to contact MBRACE to get this done or before they can do it. Since I no longer subsribe to MBRACE am I to assume I cannot have this done? Really makes no sense to me as it looks like this is a Command update. Appreciate any further information regarding the particulars of the announcement of if there is anything else I could provide to this dealership. Thanks.

To date no associated bulletins released for software update however, members have successfully updated via justified warranty claims for:

2011 E350 Sport 4Matic - P2 & Drivers Assist / 2010 C300 Sport 4Matic - P2 / 2013 Porsche Cayenne S
No issues for me. I had to drop my car off for a new tire this morning (damn potholes) and I told them that I would like them to update my COMMAND to the latest version as well while my car is here. I showed them this:

Telematics -Software Up-date CD
212-827-62-59 Release Date 11/2010
Applicable to MY10-11 207 & 212 no cost warranty update upon request.

My SA looked it up to make sure they had the DVD for it in house and told me no problem. When I went to pick up my car it was on the service form that they upgraded the COMMAND software and test drove it without any issues. I didn't have much time to play around with it but I did notice that the graphics looked a bit sharper and the color more vivid. Also the scale measurements changed to 1/16, 1/8, etc after 2 miles just like Samkimg mentioned. Hopefully I'll have more time tomorrow to take a closer look at what changed.

Yep,

1. Better graphics: It seems sharper and the car traffice icons (yellow and red) are smaller and neater.
2. Bluetooth AVCRP is working: Play, stop, track up/down
3. Volume Boost for BT (Better bass response too)
4. Climate Control details.... yes.
5. The Voice command is now recognizing: "Bluetooth Audio" or "Bluetooth Audio ON/ OFF".
