4400 damage to car
My 212 has been in the shop now for a week after i lost control and side swiped a pole. Damage was to the right front fender (needs to be replaced). i also sheered off the entire passenger mirror. The car was only 3 months old. I guess it could have been worse. The best part was the fact my insurance company objected sending the car to a certified MB body shop. I guess they thought billy who repairs 87 pontiacs is just as qualified. WTF

I have been using Allstate for my entire driving career thus far.......they might be a bit more, but I never have any issues.....I did recently learn they'll only cover 4 cars per policy.....didn't know that......
no dealing's with the other one....
Farmers is the worst...
..I had homeowners with them and then they suddenly pull out of NC because of the losses they had......
due to the hurricanes we have I think, as soon as I found out I cancelled my policy; also expecting a partial refund, and then get a bill for more money, LOL, as if.....
they never got that money and I actually ended up getting a refund several months later, I also got a class action suit form from some lawyers
saying I was entitled to some recovery.....but it was less than two dollars....LOL.......

I have 5 cars and a motorcycle on my policy and just recently had 6, so not sure about the 4 car limit. Might be due to your area.

+1 for Liberty Mutual.
All of our vehicles, properties, etc. are insured with them. With affinity group rates and multiple combination discounts, they have been the cheapest.
Two accidents could not have been settled more smoothly and with no body shop problems. In fact, their local authorized shop is a top-notch entity. However, neither accident was our fault, so can't say how LM would be in an adversarial situation.
I suspect if you speak with enough people you'll get kudos or complaints about any company. Every experience is different.
Consumer Reports lists LM around the middle of the pack. USAA Group is at the top.

Allstates the way to go. I had State Farm years ago and dealing with them as a customer or even having an accident with one of their customers is rediculous.

I think it is maybe.......here in NC we don't get any money back for a clean year of driving either....I understand Allstate does that, but was 'voted agaisnt' by our state insurance commission or something......

all I know is that if I have a clean year, no tickets, accidents, moving vio's, then I should get some dang insurance money back......that should go for all those insurances......except maybe life insurance.....

+1 for Allstate.
Been with them for over 10yrs with 3 cars, homeowners and apt insurance. Agents are straight forward and seem to want to give you any and all discounts that are available to you. They also offer additional discounts if you drive less then 7500mi per year. Depending on what state you live in you may also be eligible for a cash rebate at the end of the year if you have no claims.

Most insurance companies today will insist on after-market parts if available. Kinda sucks, but, most will guarantee the work for the lifetime of the vehicle if the work is done as one of "their" shops. The good news is, there are not many aftermarket collision parts avaailable for the W212s, so, you will liklely get MB parts. I had a rock crack my windshield, and no one is making a replacement windshield for the W212s yet, so I got an MB windshield. Does suck to have to have your car repaired in any case.
