Does the center console/armrest inside storage light protrude through the crack?
My 2010 E had two interior rubber trim pieces on each side of the inside of the "wishbone" center console/armrest doors, that prevented any light from peeping through. On my 2011, one of the doors on said console seemed a little more loose than the perfectly stiff other side (when closed), which allowed it to be poorly fit enough to let out some of the bright LED lighting from inside of the console (the light in there is always on when the cars lights are on), which is a huge eyesore at night, and makes for poor fit & finish that is otherwise uncharacteristic on the W212.
I took it to my Dealer and showed them what I was talking about (pressing down on one side of the wishbone door, to prove that it was loose, and turning on the lights, to prove that the doors did a poor job of sealing, therefore the inside light in the storage compartment protruded through).
They said that M-B forgot to include a rubber inside strip on the passenger compartment-door side, allowing it to not fit snugly, and ordered a new one.
.... The new one came in, and they said that it was the exact same way, and after checking other 2011's, they said that for whatever reason, on 2011's, only one side of the compartment doors have the proper inside rubber seal, while 2010 cars had the seal on both compartment door sides.

Very weird to me. They ended up putting some felt on the inside of the "bad" door on my car, and it's perfect now.
Anyone notice this.... Or even understand what I'm talking about?

It's not noticable unless your head is directly above the center of both doors. But It's not like it peers through the cracks and illuminates the cockpit. Dosent bother me.
Why they'd downgrade this from the 2010 car, is beyond me? I'm assuming the parts supplier made a mistake or something, and M-B assumes that nobody will make a fuss, enough to Warrant a costly DTB.
FYI, to fix it, glue some felt, or rubber in the proper places, and it's back to normal.
But yes my light also shines through the center console.

I find it to be extremely crude and unfinished for such a car. Hell, if my Chevy Malibu had that, it would drive me nuts and give me the notion of a poorly constructed/designed interior ambiance.
