Anyone looking to upgrade???
I've heard some rumblings that MB is going to offer early lease buy-outs and money down on C's and E's. That makes it very tempting to opt out of my 11 and get myself into a 12 - checking out the details - will post up what I find out.

MB usually lets you return your car 4 months earlier with no penalty if you get into another lease. Anything more than that will be special promotion.

2012 S350 Bluetec 4Matic, Diamond White, P2
Just took a look a the new S350 Bluetec. I love the car, but, in all fairness, at $102,000, I just don't see the value equation when compared to my E. The front seats are nicer, but, quite frankly, the rest is only "somewhat nicer". To my own internal calculator, it was not $50k nicer. I think I could have my interior completely re-upholstered (dash included) for considerably less than that). The front passenger comfort was not really better than the E, although, rear seat passenger space will certainly make your rear seat passengers much happier with your car buying decision. I would love to get an S350 Bluetec in the future coming off of a lease CPO. I hope that when the new 240hp Bluetec makes it into the E that the 4Matic will too. A diesel E with 4Matic would be my perfect vehicle.

Upgrade Special Promo
So far what I've heard is up to 8 months of your lease plus up to $3500 towards new lease...seems like a lot, but if true makes this a score of a promo. I would basically just get my exact same car but a year newer and they get a nice car to throw into a CPO inventory pool.
I also am hearing that it is only available for C's and E's.

You can always turn in a Lease early, all you need is a Dealer willing to pay you the amount of the Lease buyout, or more (in order for you to not come out upside down).
I had no intention of getting out of my 2010 E350, after only having it for 12 months (on a 39 month Lease), but an aggressive Dealer offered me enough for it to let me come out either even or ahead, and discounted my 2011 E350 enough to where I was able to drop my payments by $50 a month. All I had to pay "upfront" was the second half of my 2010's monthly payment at the time.

I may test drive the new E350 with the improved engine to see what I think. My biggest complaint with my current E Sport (other than the engine) is the way it drives over rough roads. I don't know if the ride has improved in the 2012 Sport, or if I could live with the tradeoffs associated with the Luxury trim.

I just received an email today from my dealer. They are willing to pay 8 of my remaining lease payments.

I didn't pay attention to the ride of the 2012 enough, but it felt the same. M-B really needs to do something about the awfully jarring ride on rough roads on the Sport Package. If the car didn't have massive bodyroll in the turns (i.e, if it was a handling oriented ride), I'd understand, but bodyroll + rough ride on rough roads makes no damn sense.
If only the roads were all paved perfectly (like they probably are in Germany), then the W212 Sports ride would be second to none, IMO.

I've been hearing a lot about these "trade up" offers that people are receiving for their current e-classes, can anyone offer some insight on this? How would I go about contacting my dealer about it? Wouldn't mind giving up my w212 4-matic for a c350 4-matic coupe or maybe even an E coupe 4-matic

I don't know...I have both the S and the E, and the S is DEFINITELY worth the extra $50K. The front seats are much more supportive than the E, it comes standard with leather, it has massaging seats for both the driver and the passenger, the rear seats are much taller, there is more headroom, the legroom is insane, the ambient lighting is much brighter, the nav screen is better, it sits higher, there's more interior space, its much better looking than the E from both ends, etc...
E classes S Classes are some of the most popular cars where I live. On my street, we have seven S classes and 12 E's. I love the E, but the S is definitely nicer to look at on the road. THe only pain is....it's difficult to park!
If you can get out of an E and into an S, it's completely worth it. See if you can get Active Body Control - its the best feature. In fact, if I still had money left over after the lease of my E, I would get the new face lifted version as my 2008 is filled with creaks and the paint sucks. Oh well!

As of now, no diesel option on the 7's or 5's. I would like to see BMW, MB, and Audi also up their diesel offerings. I have really liked the past two generations of the S and I agree with you on the presense. What would truly be perfect for me would be a short wheelbase version of the S with diesel.

I just spoke to my dealer ( MB of Mahanttan ), which is largest dealer on East Cost. He says there are no E BlueTec available in our region at this time. WTF ....

Cars dot com shows that there's about a half dozen '12 E Class diesels currently in the Boston-Baltimore corridor. Not many to be sure but there *are* a few.

I'd be tempted to upgrade if they put the new, more powerful, diesel into the E Class. The S Class is way out of my price range so that's not an option.A diesel A6 and 5 Series would also tempt me.

By far the larget MB dealership on the East coast is Ray Catena in NJ -just take a look at their facilities. I think they're the second or third in the states, behind Fletcher Jones in CA, which is of course the largest MB dealer in the world.

I beg to differ. They're the only "factory" dealership in the US, but are far from the largest on the East coast (thought their used cars sales are huge).

[quote=aeggroup;4910623]... as long as they give me a good deal. [quote]
That they do. They absolutely give you just about the best deal in the NYC area. Main reason they do that is market share - they're OK making less per car as long as the volume is there. Because they're the only Mercedes owned dealer, they're mondated by MBUSA to deliver on volume rather than profit/vehicle (they would love both, but volume is the driving force).
