I also have the 9500ix and it is mounted right below the headliner, to the right of the rear view mirror. I used the long cord available on ebay and tucked it in the trim work all the way down to the glove box where it is plugged in. You can not see anything, no cord, no plug. You can not see the detector from outside the car and it is high enough you can't see it from behind the car at night either.
Only down side is that I can not fully extend the passenger visor past about 75% full swing.
I also have a 9500ix in my Corvette. I dont usually speed, but these detectors have more than paid for themselves just in speed traps and limit-change zones.

Tours from Phuket will take you there.
Great place for canoe trips to explore.
But you would need a bigger boat to get you there.

Santa brought me a 9500 ix and I didn't expect it. Glad I got it, next day it saved me from a speed trap in town. Love the GPS learning feature, after two days I don't get alarms at the various drug stores on the way to work, and the one they put the van up next to still alarmed when it was there, different frequency same band.
Didn't get the live cord (Social Speed trap networking thing) and doubt I'll need one where I live.
Waiting on the long flat cord to arrive, can't stand the cord hanging down.

haha!! love TMGG! ditto on location: Easter Islands I think....(?)
great movie! and Goodnight was a button too....
picking a fav is tough: I like 'em all very much.........have studied them many, many years.....
I'd probably say I have a fav in each catergory of Bonds.....
but an overall pick is tough!
and I'll add some of my collection is still VHS LOL
I don't even have a blue ray or a big flat screen telly for that matterhaha
I am planning on ordering up a couple of the V1's and having them hardwired in.......
I have read lots of good things about them too, and about jammers, I think they are illegal in NC too, but I'm not certain.
I do enjoy 'interviewing' state troopers when ever I see them out eating somewhere, they're always friendly and like to talk
about driving.......
questions about WOT on entrance ramps, who is more likely to get caught in a speeding convoy of cars, tailgating, not moving over....etc......
they'll answer just about anything I've found.....

Here's pics and instructions on how to install. To eliminate the dangling wire concerns.

I don't know how much the infrared reflecting windshield affects radar and laser signals, but this video might be helpful in deciding placement of your detectors:

Radar detector install
Have V1 installed on my driver sun visor(off to the right side). It is hard wired in so that it comes on automatically with ignition. No wiring shows except an inch or so going into the V1. Local car audio shop made the install for $40 in about 40 min. Also it is not visible from outside the car. Have used this method on many cars. No problems. Use standard clip-on for attaching to visor.
