Car or baby seat

My cts v rear area is pretty tight. Was wondering if anybody has a baby seat in the middle and has no problem with front seat positions. Pretty much you can sit normal with the baby seat in the middle

Very few, if any, cars allow for the proper installation of a child seat in the middle position. I believe the owner's manual discusses mounting them in the outboard positions only. The is due to the position and design of the LATCH anchors.

Middle is safer for side impacts. That being said I put mine in the rear non-drivers side. I agree in all our cars middle seat mount just never seemed to secure right. Also easier to get out of a side position and still allows another passenger comfortably in the back.

I got the car seat in the middle. Statistically safer than the side. No problems with the front seating at all. A bit tight in the back on either side of the car seat, but still enuff room to fit some skinny ppls.

I have my younger one in a Recaro Young Sport child seat (fits great in our cars, unlike Britax, etc) behind the passenger seat & my older one in a booster behind me.

Statistically, it is safer to have a baby in the middle, but this is impossible if you have 2 kids.

Statistically, your kids are safer in a W212 than any other vehicle (IMO) on the road...so you're already ahead of the game.

That Recaro seat has SIP (side impact protection), which most mainstream seats do not.

We have Britax in each car and agree they take up a lot of space but I do like the sturdiness of the seats and the SIP. With the 3 point LATCH I feel they are very very secure and well made. Will look into the Recaro as he grows, hopefully more aesthetically pleasing frame etc.

Also agree being in an MB definitely put you ahead of the game statistically.

We have a britax blvd in the middle. It's a monster of a car seat and it takes up a lot of space but once you get the hang of securing the latches and funneling the seat belt into the car seat it'll be a cinch to remove and reinstall.

As expected your seat cannot fully recline back with a car seat but that's not normal so yes you can sit normal.

Almost pulled the trigger on a c63 but the rear seats were too cramped as is and with a baby seat... no go.

I have baby seat in center. Actually I like MB has proper anchors so seat is tightly connected. I usually have kids on back and rarely adults, so far nobody complained. I would say I have more space than in same configuration at Lexus.

I have been using an infant car seat in the middle of my E350 with no problems, but it is time to move to a convertible seat now. I would definitely like to keep the car seat in the middle, but the convertible seats are huge in comparison to the infant seat. I have been looking at the Britax Advocate and Boulevard, and the Recaro ProSport online but I haven't had a chance to actually try and fit one in the rear seat yet. Hopefully the stores (BabyUSA and Babies-R-US) will let me take them out and see how they fit.

E350
I have a Chicco Keyfit 30 in the middle in my wife's E350 in the middle and I have no problem with my seat position and I am 6'4". I am sure when we go with the Britax we are going to have to move it to the passenger side. Remember, it's going to be tough getting the child in and out of the convertible seat when it is in the middle position.

Kid seats in both outboard back seats and no issues with legroom (and i am 6'2"). Worked with both rear facing baby bucket and front facing toddler seat.

The Recaro ProSport fits nicely, i promise. I don't currently have a CLS in stock, otherwise i'd put one in & show you pics.

I had one in the back of my old CLK Cabrio & it even worked in that car.
