2014 E-Class Now on MBUSA Website!

http://www.mbusa.com/mercedes/benz/i...Wagons#landing

The classic E-Class gets updated and the extensive face-lift looks great!

Projected to be an early release, Spring of 2013.

I was very close to trading my 2011 for a 2013, but I will certainly now wait for the eminent redesign 2014 release just a few short months away.

I feel for the new purchasers of 2013's, though a great car, they get a very abbreviated "new model" run before the updates refresh the look.

If they offer the E300 (diesel hybrid) here next year I'll be first in line.Otherwise I'll stick with what I have.

Golfster,
Thanks. But I think that date is for European release. They always get the new model releases before we do.

Don

Looks good. But the grill emblim needs to go and replaced with a hood emblim instead.

MB seem started borrowing ideas from other makers. Watch in center console (Infiniti, Cadilac, Jaguar), dayligh LEDs just around front lights (similarly Lexus, Audi). Anyway it is good refreshment, so I may still consider the model if it will be available next autumn.

Could be, but when the 2010 212 was released, it was on dealer lots and showrooms in May and June of 2009.

I hope it's an early release. I'm going to need some time to get used to that front end before I'm due to get one.

Don

Here's a quote from benzblogger.com:

"The 2014 Mercedes-Benz E-Class will be a major refresh for the model. It is being called a redesign because of the number of changes being made to the styling and technology. We expect it to arrive mid-2013!"

She's usually pretty reliable for these sort of projections.

Regards,
Don

I would love to see the 240hp Bluetec and 4Matic be part of this redesign.

Only the coupe had an early release. The sedan did not show up until late July. I took delivery of the first 2010 W212 from my dealer.

v6 diesel is being cut from the 2012 redesign and is being replaced by 4 cylinder diesel making 201 HP and 369 torque. V6 diesel will no longer be offered in E class as far as I have read.

At last January's Detroit Auto Show (which I attended) they displayed the E300 diesel hybrid, currently available in Europe. It's rated at 4.2L/100 km (about 55mpg) and about 425 ft lbs torque.

93 300CE Cabriolet, 13 E350 Sport Wagon
EEK!

Oh Fortuna you spin a most confiscate turn on me. My 2013 Uberwagon order could not come at a later slot in the model year and then soon, like weeks later out come the 2014s. This is a big deal as I am thinking the 14 wagon could look either really nice or really not so much. Darn. I'll bet with the options I've chosen the beast will eclipse 75k. I would look elsewhere at that pricepoint. Maybe...

Staying calm, I'll hold on to my special albeit late order, however. That will put two pre facelift cars in my garage. The '93 Cabriolet and the '13 wagon. There is some kind of poetry in that, and that makes me want to stay the course.

Cheers,
Bob

I read this as well and that the E300 4cyl diesel will also have 4matic. I will be interest to see how the car rides and if it still require DEF. I love my 2012 but always worth a look.

I ain't a diesel owner nor will I be in anytime sooner but discontinuing V6 diesel which is E350 CDI is a big mistake , and I don't see a point of cutting a super diesel car like that
E350 Bluetec churns out 620 Nm/Torque and 265 HP , shall I say more

Having about 4 years of experience with DEF equipped vehicles I've found that the whole issue is,at worst,a very minor inconvenience and a very minor expense.IMO there are many who blow it all out of proportion...but then everybody's got an opinion.

2012 S350 Bluetec 4Matic, Diamond White, P2
The US version is rated at 211hp and 400 ft-lbs torque. The drop to 201hp/369t is not too shabby from a 2.1 liter engine. 4Matic would be a great thing to have in my area...not necessary, but, a plus indeed. I have read that the 201hp 4 cyl in the E in Europe is returning better than 50mpg in real driving. Sign me up with or without the hybrid. I believe it does use DEF in Bluetec form. We will likely not get the CDI version.

My experience is more or less the same. On my 2009 I had probably 5 trips to the dealership based on faulty Adblue sensors, but knock on wood seems to be resolved. I would still prefer not having it though for spare tire reasons and just less things to go wrong. But DEF definitely isn't a reason not to get a car. 99.99% of the time you don't realize you have it.
