2012 E350 to 2014 GLK 350
After being part of this forum for over ten years, I'm buying a 2014 GLK 350 and will be selling my beautiful E350. It has been a hard decision but there are some good reasons. The E350 has been my wife's car but it just doesn't work for her. She is about five feet tall and has some arthritis that makes it difficult for her to get in and out of the E. Also, she has poor visibility which makes her less than confident in maneuvering the car.
Once we realized we needed to replace the E we tried several models but didn't want to get anything other than another Mercedes.
I was impressed with the C Class based E350 Coupe and took a test drive.
I liked the coupe but the wide, heavy doors and low seats simply didn't work for Ruth. We then drove a C250 and a C350. She didn't like the 250 engine performance and didn't like the ride in the C350 Sport.
We then concentrated on the GLK and found we both appreciated its comfort, ease of entry and exit and great visibility due to the high seating. Her only problem was that the 2012 lacked the elegance of her E350. When the 2013 face lift happened, she changed her mind and said she would like a GLK 350. After a couple more test drives, we placed the order and have a June build date.
Now, I have to concentrate on selling our E350 which may be difficult since ours is the Luxury model with leather. In our area about the only
E Class cars are the Sport version with MBTex.
I have certainly enjoyed the time on this forum that began when I bought one of the early W211's. I will "read the mail" from time to time to see what is going on. The best to all of you.

'85 190D , '12 E350 BlueTec, '13 GLK 250 BlueTec
I'm doing the same switch but my GLK is the 250 BlueTec. Pick it up in Stuttgart next Tuesday! My reasons for the switch are a bit different. Where I live I just felt a bit ostentatious in the E350 and it didn't quite work for me for trips to Home Depot. Love to drive the car but looking forward the the GLK!

The GLK250 is a great car. I really like the interior redesign on the GLK. Much nicer than the original interior and finally looks like a proper MB interior.
