DIY: Key Battery Replacement
I was driving today and noticed that my dash informed me to replace the battery in my key.

Materials: New battery (CR2025 3v) and small blade.

Here are the directions:

Step 1. Pull the grey lever to the right and pull out the L shaped key.



Step 2.



Step 3. Turn the key to the back side and insert the Key into the left side.
This will press out the back key cover.



Step 4. Take a blade and pull out the battery.



Step 5. Install the new battery and replace the cover. Then reinsert the key.

you could also just hit the key against the palm of your hand and the battery should pop right out, in case you dont carry a knife with you

One of my keys set off this warning message for a months and I have not tackled replacing it yet lol

For those who might not have noted it, the little key also operates the ignition and the door and trunk locks. In case the battery dies completely.

There is a key hole in the ignition?

Ironically, I got the same message in my car and had to replace the battery too. I just took the battery from my spare key that I never use. Very simple.

I know there an indentation for the electronic ket fob behind my push button. But, I never noticed a place to insert the little metal valet keyl?
