Thoughts on new purchase. Help needed!!!??

Hey guys to make along story short I recently totaled my 09 s550 sport! With that being said my car was paid off and I got a very good payout from Geico.

I'm a loyal MB driver and can't seem to find another car brand that can meet Mercedes standard.

Earlier today I stopped by Mercedes Benz of Tyson's Corner just to window shop and drive a few cars, but one car really caught my attention so I pulled the trigger on a 2010 E350 4M. The car has 33,000 miles and of course is CPO with extended warranty till 100k. The car has P2-Keyless Go, Bi-Xenon, Amg wheels, parking sensors. My only concern is did I pay to much, out the door with everything I'm at $38,700?? I love this car I had a s550 and thought nothing could compare but this e350 has me mind blown the car is so smooth and has plenty of pick up. Only issue is price because now that I search online I see some 2010's under 30K warranty is a must for me but I'm just confused

I drove a couple 11's but non of them had the sport steering wheel or the Bi-Xenons which is a must IMO.

What do you guys think? Opinions are appreciated.

The car is well equipped and has extended warranty I think you did ok.. should have drove a 12' with 302hp, big difference, especially coming from a S550

didn't like the look of the '14 E class? IMO so much better then the last generation. Not to take anything away from them. Loved them to.

Thanks everyone love my E

Okay I drove 2014 S550 and WOW not only was it amazing to drive it was better to sit in the rear! Mercedes has really stepped there game up. With that being said I spent nearly 100k in 2008 on my S550 and paid it off 2 years later thinking I'm going to drive it forever & ever. What the insurance company paid me out was around 35k so I believe I took a loss but at least they paid me something. I'm not gonna sit here and lie if I had the budget for a 14 S550 I would have on order in a heart beat no questions asked. Besides I bought the car outright so no car note And another issue was the the MRS there was no way I could get her to agree on a car in that price range LOL

Honestly I really did not like the front end of the 2014 E350!! And wasn't ready to spend 20k more on something that wouldn't make me smile! You guys need to believe me I've been driving around this morning to places I don't even need to be hahaha just love the car right now.

To each his own, but hardly ever met a MB i didnt like. Ive never owned a MB yet, but am hoping after this weekend that may change, I live in the DC/Metro area to and have been through a few of the dealerships here so trying to get the best price i can find and go for it. One of my biggest hurdles is also the 'MRS'...funny how that works

Curious: You mentioned the last car got totalled. Asuming it was an accident and not a flood. Did the car do a decent job of protecting you?

congrats on the new whip... looks nice. I don't know how I could ever go from a v8 to a v6... but if you're happy, that is all that matters. Want and desire what you have, not what you don't have.

I think you did fine, congrats. I got my 2011 e350 4m with the amg wheels p1 34k miles a few months ago and I paid 36k but you have a few more cool options so it makes sense. I wish I had keyless go.

mine has the sport steering wheel and same lights as yours too, took a while to find and i had to fly out to south Dakota to pick it up bc I wanted black on all black interior and not the brown trim but they are out there.

just for reference, a few months ago i bought a non cpo 2012 e350 rwd with p2, amg wheel package and driver assist package for 44 otd with 19k miles, i was originally looking for a cpo too but i figured the extra year of new car warranty made up for it.

I want to give you some advice. Perhaps you don't need it but anyway.

As it will be your first Benz don't buy a new one. Get a low mileage CPO and with that 2012 and up will be fine. By the low mileage I mean around 30 000 and less. Model year 2012 or younger because it has the new colored display and Comand 4.5. And this must be checked on each car as some early 2012 models may still have Comand 4.0.

Comand version does not make too much difference. I have 2010 model car with 4.0 Comand version and it is just fine but if I was getting a car now I would look for the 4.5 Comand version.

Also, get the car with P2 package that gives you adaptive lights and Keyless-GO. And the split folding rear seat is a nice feature too. For the looks sports "Avant Garde" model for me looks better but this is, of course, everybody's own taste. And for the looks that Panorama roof is just awesome.

In the DC area I would go to the American Service Center, which is now called Mercedes Benz of Arlington I believe. They are located on Glebe Road. I bought mine from there from Frank Azimi who I believe is the manager of the pre-owned side. Very nice old gentleman and gave me a deal. And I think this is the biggest MB dealer in the country too.

Good afternoon Guys. Once again thanks everyone. For those asking about going from a v8 to v6, yeah major difference but I can live with it plus the ML550 has a v8 with similar power to my old s550. dg_guy Speaking of the s550 it did it's job in the crash, I walked away without a scratch both local police and tow truck driver were amazed that I wasn't seriously hurt, of course my body was sore but nothing major thank God.

Oh yeah rjej84 the MRS plays a big factor lol you trying explaining to her AGAIN that you want a 100k car and your gonna keep it forever, just won't work this time around haha.

That $38,700 was with everything tax, title, etc! I also forgot to mention that before my purchase they spent $1700 for new tires and $625 brakes

Okay forgot to mention that over the weekend I learned some cool things about the options. First the hold feature amazing!!! Second automatic high-beam. These are options I didn't have on my s550 but I guess since it was a 2009???!

If there's any other cool options please do share

You will also have Bluetooth streaming audio, something that never made it into the W221 S-Class.

2010 E350 Luxury Sedan, Engine 272 (V6)
Congrats! You should be happy. I have looked at both the 2014 Sports and Luxury versions and do not like the front end on either. Just does not have that traditional MB sedan look, which the S still has.
I think the price on the S keeps a lot of people out of the car. More car and better car, but a huge jump from E Class.
My 2010 came with P-1 package and I haven't missed the other items, but I ordered that way because I wouldn't use the P2 additional items.
