Advice Please for 2012 E350 Bluetec purchase

Hi Fellow Members,

I live in Vancouver, BC, Canada and have 2009 C300 4Matic car which is in excellent condition but decided to trade in with 2012 E 350 class, therefore, I am going to buy soon this used 2012 E350 Bluetec with Premier and Launch edition, it is fully loaded, star certified and purchase from MB Dealer. I need your advise is how good this bluetec car is as I never drove diseal based car before and it is rear wheel drive. This E class has only 6000KM on it which appears to be as new. I need advise from fellow who have owned 2012 E350 Bluetec and how they liked or anything which I need to worry about ? Thanks in Advance.

I own the exact same car but a 2011, so yours has better displays on t he dashboard but not much else different.

I am not sure what Premier and Launch are, here in the USA we have Sport or Luxury, and then P1 or P2.

Mine is Luxury and P2 which gets you keyless go, bi-xenon headlights, etc...

I LOVE my car, it gets huge gas mileage, and has been very reliable for the last 53,000 miles.

I live in New England, so have more snow than in BC, I run four snow tires all winter and the rear wheel drive is not a problem at all.

2012 E350 Bluetec

I used to own a 2008 E320 Bluetec, same V6 engine as E350 BT and also RWD.
This car was a fabulous highway cruiser with very decent mileage (around 7.3 l/100 km hwy.) and lots of power for passing.

For winter driving, I installed a set of four Michelin snow tires and the car performed well in snow. In fact, one December I drove up to Kamloops from Vancouver via the Coquihalla, when it was very snowy - no problems with RWD ! It all comes down to tires !

Good luck with your purchase - the E350BT sounds like a great car with only 6000 km !

Also do I need to have new GPS for this. Does anybody know if new GPS map is available for E350 2012 Canada model. Now 2014 means new map must be installed before I pick up car from the dealer

The only kind of diesel for sale in Canada for on road use is Ultra Low Sulphur. In the USA, it is sometimes called No.2 or just Ultra Low Sulphur.

Mercedes e350 BlueTec
I drove a (late) 2011 BT for 27 months on a lease. Best car I've ever driven and the only lease I would have bought out except the residual was over $10K more than the car was worth at retail. Now in a 2014 e350 gas. The 2011-2013 BT's are wonderful cars.
