I need your guidance PLEASE

Hello Fellow Benz Fanatics,

Last week I bought an E350 with build date 03/12 and 29k miles in great condition. I am seriously enjoying everything on this car. It’s a big step up from my C320. I’m stoke about this beauty however there are a few things that worry me. I reach out to you all with hope that you can lead me in the right direction. After close inspection of the vehicle and searching through this forum, I have concluded that I have some of the following problems.

LI62.25-P-056043 JUN13 – 212 & 218 deformation of engine compartment soundproofing due to water ingress. Install optimized seal part # 2126280800.

LI68.30-P-053962 – 212 with burred walnut veneer wood finish (731) or burred walnut veneer designo brown (w60) UV can cause fading trim will be replaced, August 2011 clean point.

My car was build 03/12 so I’m not sure if I’m covered however there is big discoloration from the center console where the COMAND wheel is and on the wood trim on the two front doors and front passenger dashboard.

LI91.30-P-054637 – 212 with seat heater (873) up to VIN A703331 lump under seat cushion cover, install modified heat mat.

Also, on the driver seat there is a small tear about 2 inches on the MB-Tex along the seam.

Tomorrow a local dealer in NJ is holding a Mercedes Benz Clinic where they will inspect the vehicle free of charge. Where I need your guidance is; how do I bring up the following issues to service department? Do I just mention it and bring the service bulletins or will they address these issues when they inspect the car. I believe I have about a year left of regular warranty on the vehicle. Are these things covered?

Yes, all would be covered under factory warranty if present. I would be up front and tell dealer about issues first. The faded wood is an issue the customer needs to complain about in order for the dealer to look into it further. I believe the TSB was updated to remove the August 2011 clean point so don't let that bother you. If it is faded, then it's faded.

To me, the faded wood and tear in MBtex would be the biggest issues to address while you're under warranty, but really they should address them all.

All covered by factory warranty, simply state your concerns and reference bulletins.

Go to Benzel-Busch in Englewood, NJ.

They are the best MB dealer in the WORLD.

I drive 2.5 hours to them from New England to have my car serviced. Looking at the dealer map on mbusa.com, there are about 12 dealers closer to me than B-B, and that's where I go for service. Enough said?

We recently bought a CPO 2010 E350. In our search, we went to numerous area MB dealers. Our experience at Benzel_Busch was great, and also at the Morristown, NJ MB dealer. Sorry Benzel-Busch did not have the model we wanted.
Experience at New York dealers - three in total - not so great!

Thank you everyone for your help.

Mike I'm going to check out Benzel-Busch. I'm not too thrilled about the service I got on Saturday at Prestige. There where no recommendations based on the Techs inspection of the vehicle excep the next due maintenance which I guess is a good thing. I told my SA that the wood trim was faded and that the engine compartment sound proof barrier was peeling off and to please check the front brakes. The SA returned and only addressed my concern for the brakes and sent me on my way. Didn't acknowledge my other concerns. Made an appointment for the 3yr service but I will be canceling that.

Do you work with a specific SA? Anyone there you recommend?
