Should I tint my front and back windows ?

Hi Experts, I own E350 Bluetech 2012 model. Since Vancouver, BC is getting hotter day by day, I feel sunburning on my arms when drive my car in 33 degree temperature. Should I go for tinting of all my windows ? Need experts advise, if I proceed, which shop i should visit in Vancouver to do that.
I talked with MB-Burnaby and they refused to do it.

Please advise.

Thanks

Not sure why dealer would refuse to tint side and back windows unless it is not legal there. Find out which tint shop the dealer uses and ask them directly. Dealers typically outsource this work and use a reputable shop as their name in on the line too.

I wanted my windshield tinted and that's not legal here so dealer wouldn't do that part - only sides and back. So I worked directly with the tint shop they use and had them do it all.

I have had tinted windows for years now, I can't stand a non tinted car.
Highly recommend tinting your windows. In my state the legal tint amount is 50% in the front and 35% in the back.

20% all around, wouldn't go any lighter, especially if you have a light interior.

20% all around if you can legally. If not then 35%. You will love it. Car will look great. 70% windshield if you can will help if you drive daily east and west.

Definitely tint sides and back, not so sure about the front. Some say that it produces irregularities in refraction of light, which are noticeable in rain / night.
I noted that the reflections of dash air vents are more prominent in the outside mirrors after tinting the windows. Also the rear defrosters produce a different effect (more noticeable when light is shining from behind) at night after tinting. You'll notice these things for about a week and then forget them .

Only issue I have with tinting the windshield is when wearing polarized sunglasses I get minor light refraction issues. When that happens, I just remember that time is a flat circle...

Lol, my vehicle came with tints upon purchase but I believe the previous owner put them on. Funny thing is a was told he was like a 60 year old Lawyer from PA. I was a lil surprised he'd have such dark tints (All windows except front). They're so dark I was worried I wouldn't pass inspection. So I just left all the windows down and they never checked. Good for me, I guess.

It's more important to get a good quality tint vs darker tint for heat rejection. Get ceramic or crystalline tint for best heat rejection. Don't bother with the cheap dye based tints as they don't do much for heat rejection. Metallic tints can interfere with radio/cell reception.

I got 50% ceramic tint on all windows plus 80% on windshield. While it's not legal to tint front windows or windshield here in CA, the color is light enough where the police doesn't bother me. Plus it blocks over 50% heat which makes a big difference.
And it's not so dark where it's hard to see objects at night.

My other car has 35% all around and 80% windshield and I think it's too dark. While it looks nice, it makes it hard to see objects at night, especially when trying to back into a parking spot on a dark street.

I tend to agree with most of the others, 20% on doors and back but I wouldn't tint the windshield

Cool

After reading this thread and other posts I decided to go with our legal limit of 35% all around. Recent hot weather got me off the bubble-having a black MBTex and Ashe interior does not help. Going next week to TNT tinting to get the Eastman Pinnacle 35% all around and 5% for the moon roof. They have AIR 80 for the Windshield which is not a tint per TNT but a clear UV Nano-Shield-will find out more next week since it is installed on the inside and outside per TNT and has a 5-8 year warranty vice lifetime for the Pinnacle. TNT has been around for over 30 years and I trust in their experience and they do clean work which is a requirement of mine. Will try to post pics before-after when done. TNT has some videos you may want to look at if you need basic information here: http://www.tnttinting.com/

I went 35% all around because tints are illegal here but if it wasn't then 20% is ideal IMO

Absolutely! There are SO many advantages to tinting your windows. Not sure why your dealer refused to do it. My dealer included it with the purchase.

MBSebas87 is that 35% all around-sure looks dark, but it does look really good and hoping my tint looks like that when they are done.

I personally wouldn't tint my entire windshield for legal reasons. It does seem that you can tint part of the windshield in most states.

Q. To what degree can my car windows be tinted?

A. Front window shields can not be tinted more than 75 mm below the top of window. Front side windows can not be tinted. Rear window shields may be tinted provided the vehicle has outside mirrors on both the driver's and passenger's side. Windows behind the driver may be tinted.

You should definitely tint the back window. I have never heard of someone tinting their windows and not tinting the back window.

I have tinted almost all my cars and have never considered for a second tinting the front window. I have never seen anyone tint their front window except maybe the top 4 inches of the window which was actually popular many years ago. I would not recommend tinting the front windshield.

Here in FL, I have no regrets about tinting the front windshield with the llumar air blue 80. You can definitely tell a difference between cars that have it and those that don't down here - not just your chest or legs but also the steering wheel after parking in the sun. Best $80 I spent on my car so far.

Trying to convince my wife to let me get hers tinted but she doesn't seem bothered by it like I am. Maybe I can sneak it on there when she gets another car without her knowing.
