rjpan's 2010 Mercedes Benz E350 Steel Gray Metallic Build!

Hello, Everyone! my name is RJ! and I'm new to the Mercedes Benz world/community, and I would first like to say, the car I will be modifying in this thread is not mine! It is owned by my parents. I will simply be tastefully modifying it aesthetically and doing some minor performance modifications.

Car:
2010 Mercedes Benz E350
C755 Steel Gray Metallic
AMG Double 6-Spoke Wheels

Purchase Date:
12/18/15

I will update this with pictures of car:

Front 3/4

Rear 3/4

The car to me is annoyingly stock/bland. Today I decided to purchase some Christmas Goodies/Presents for my parents car off ebay:

Parts Purchase Date: 12/19/16 - (Purchased By Me)
AMG Affalterbach Bonnet Emblem
AMG Rear Badge- Decided not to use (Going to get a badge that says "Sport" instead)
AMG License Plate Frame
AMG Style Rear Trunk Spoiler
Roof Spoiler

Future Plans:?
Clear Sidemarkers
"Sport Badge"
20in AMG Style Split 5 Wheels (20x8.5F 35 offset 20x9.5R 35 offset) - OEM Wheel Plus
H&R Springs
Tint

I'm doing this thread for people to follow, and give recommendations on what I should/shouldn't do your feedback is welcome!

So you are going to take a straight stock e350 and slap a bunch of AMG badges and two spoilers on it and then what? Are your parents still going to drive it afterward? If your parents are over a certain age, they probably like it stock, and the folks that like to mod would probably consider it a poser, all show and no go.

and which one exactly of listed above is a performance modification ?
IMHO don't settle for AMG badges, go for BRABUS !
But seriously are your parents aware of what is going to happen to their Mercedes ?

Thank you for responding, As of right now, yes that's what I'm going to do, my parents are in their late 50's early 60's. You're right, performance wise that's why I'm going to keep it stock for now.

Also in the long run I have other plans, Supercharger, Full Exhaust, etc. but for their needs right now i don't see any harm doing some minor cosmetic stuff. My parents will drive it still.

And for people who like to mod, I really don't see how it should do any harm, all I'm doing are cosmetic upgrades. They offer AMG wheels at the dealer with the car, ours happened to come with them, so whats the harm of putting other AMG Cosmetic Parts on it.

Its not like I'm going to re-badge it as a "E63"- (now that would be considered posing) and if they are true Mercedes Benz/AMG enthusiast's they should easily notice that its not a E63, by the bumpers, rear diffuser, side skirts, wheels, quad tail pipes, and brakes (Probably missing other parts you could use to verify cosmetically that its not one). If they still think its a E63 without noticing that those parts are not on the car and it clearly says E350 on the back, this community may have some other real problems.

In any other car communities, they would look at those changes as ones way to "tastefully" make the car to something they like. It makes people double take, like "Oh I like what they did there," "Oh that looks better than stock" etc. They will know it for what it is, and for what its not.

Side note: My Parents Raised 3 Boys all 3 of us like modifying cars, they're use to and like our modifications.

The OP may want to look at post #15 in that thread.

This will be a funny thread. The OP buys (probably aftermarket Chinese knockoff) eBay AMG bits with his parents' money to pimp out their ride.

Break out the popcorn.

Thanks guys, Yeah Im open to criticism lol, its all valued on opinion. Personally I dont think of it as posing, and skimming though that thread I see many people would. Again I'd like to mention I am NOT putting an "E63" badge or claiming that it is that model. It will still wear its E350 name tag proud. Not trying to fool anyone thinking that its something else. I feel that the trunk looks unbalanced having a logo only off to one side and not the other, another option that may make everyone happy is just removing the "E350" badge it would clean up the look of the rear of the car. (only have the Mercedes 3 point logo on the center of the trunk)

PS: not using my parents money.

again, its not my business and you do whatever pleases you mate.

but that being said, putting an AMG badge on a non AMG car is "trying to fool anyone thinking that its something else" (your own words). it doesnt matter if you upgrade to all AMG OE parts (ie. wheels, bumpers, brakes etc) it will still not be worthy to wear the AMG badge.

im not very fussy about it as its your car (parents) but just to give you a heads up, you'll get a lot less love from here if you go that route.

now debadging her. you'll get my 2 thumbs up! ive debadge every single merc i owned but the C63. goodluck mate and have fun modding!

Thank you! this is the feedback that I wanted, I'm not sure why no one wanted to share that option with me (Debadging), I can still cancel the order for the badges. Oh how do you feel about getting a "Sport" badge instead?

Sport Badge

Part number: A1768170420

I just want to balance out the look of the rear.

To everyone here, you guys aren't fixing the problem by not helping find a solution!

A lot of members here are quite helpful and knowledgeable. Me personally, i like modding my cars to be different (more on DIY and aesthetics). I do it for me, not for others. So whatever you feel like doin to your car, id say go for it.

You are spending your hard earned money on your car. You should do whatever that pleases you rather than listening to opinions from total strangers. Yes, you can get technical information from online forums to help you out, but do whatever that makes sense for you. BTW your car is awesome. Spruce it up a bit. Good luck.

Why are you trying to load up a non-AMG car with AMG badges everywhere?

And Supercharging the 3.5 out of an E350 is so not worth it. If you need more power get an E550 or E63. Supercharging that car is going to cost more than it's worth.

the update is not putting AMG badges everywhere. the only AMG badge you'll see are on the wheels, like this car im posting below.

I'm looking to do the same wheel/suspension setup, but with a roof and trunk spoiler. then adding a "Sport" badge to the rear of the car.

I am probably not going to go with the supercharger, or exhaust. I dont want to spend that much money, for a car that doesnt even belong to me

Welcome and beautiful car you guys have there. I'd do everything except any type of AMG Badging. Also I don't know if performance mods are going to really be worth it in the long run but idk since I'm not a E350 pro.

I'm in the minority here when I say it doesn't really matter to me with the whole badging thing but based on what I've learned over the past few months it'll bring unnecessary resentment from other MB owners who do spot it.

Your parents are lucky that you're willing to put the time and money into making their ride unique. Good luck and hopefully we can help along the way somehow

Just seeing this and I do think badging on the wheels isn't any issue also adding that sports badge will be unique and cool. Give it a try and take some pics so we can see. I had AMG wheels that came with my car and no one really notices it except for diehard MB guys. Honestly most average Joe's don't really care about that stuff. They just care about the Star lol

It's ok because it's factory but personally I don't even like that my E-350 has "AMG" on the wheels (though I like the look of the wheels)

Save yourself the mockery that you would receive from MB drivers (and others who would know) and leave the AMG badges to the E63

You want your parents car to look better then stock and keep it tasteful? Tint it, and debadge it.

Adding any kind of badge is gay. Leave it alone.
