CPO warranty question
Hey guys,
Looking at getting my father into a 2014 e350 CPO. He drives >25K miles a year.
Question is, do I have to buy the addition 2 years at time of purchase from local MB Dealer or can I add the 2 years after the purchase, from one of the finance guys known to the forum
thanks

The finance person at MB SF told me I had to buy the additional 2 years extended warranty at the time of purchase but I knew he was BS. You do need to purchase it within 30 days to avoid some "surcharge". I called up my friend's MB contact at another dealership and purchased it through him, saving myself $1500 off the price MBSF wanted.

You can counter offer them, and stand your ground,
I offered the finance person $1,980 for two years otherwise I'll buy from another dealer,
to him, it's either 2 grand or nothing, at the end of the day they still make some money and I could put that 2K into the 0.99% interest, win win.

I got mine recently from Jeff and he offered me the best rate. Many others on this forum have also gone through Jeff for extended warranty and also had a great experience.

not sure about price going up after 30 days, but I thought you had until the expiration of the 1 year CPO to get an extension. Not sure I recall that anyone has tried that though. Best not to wait so long as you get good pricing.

If you don't buy it within 30 days of taking delivery of the car, some dealers charge an additional fee to sell you the warranty. Also the price of the warranty can change from year to year (usually goes up) so its usually better to buy it earlier. You can always get a refund later if you decide you don't want it. They will give a full refund before the start of the extended warranty or a pro-rated one once the warrant starts.
