Minor Door dent

Hi guys I need help so I recently bought my e350 about a week ago and someone already hit me with a door. I'm not too sure what do to should I go through a body shop and anyone know how much it would be roughly? Or should I just go through insurance? Thanks.

What a bummer. I had a dent just like that on my old car, I found a local body shop who repaired it for 450. At the time I was hoping for PDR but the dent was in a place where it wasn't possible. Good luck !

I would still check out the paintless dent removal option first. Least invasive and least expensive.

Not really easy to tell if you have any real paint damage with that picture quality, but if not, that looks like an easy PDR. I'm ****, so when I get pdr I pull the panels for better access for the guy doing it.

Agreed. I would try PDR before going through insurance. It is hard to see if the paint was damaged. If not, a good PDR guy should be able to fix it. If you were in the Bay Area I could recommend a couple of PDR pros.

Looks like a pretty malicious hit to me from a driver's door. And high up too, maybe from an SUV. Just terrible how careless and or jealous others are. Good luck with the repair, but looks a bit close to the crease for PDR. If repainting is needed, I think any chance of a bad color match would bother me more than the dent.

Just google "Paintless Dent Removal" for your zip code and you should find several, unless you really live out in the sticks.

I had this done on my wife's Lexus RX, similar dent, and it came out perfect.

I had one a little worse on one of my cars. Went to paintless dent removal place took them about 2 hours and cost about $125. Could not tell there was ever a dent. You have to get a good shop tho. The first place I went to said it could not be done. The 2nd guy said no problem. Did a great job

My MB dealership has a guy who comes by once a week to do PDR's, touch ups and so forth. You can negotiate directly with the PDR guy.

OMG- that's not minor! Looks terrible. Whoever it is is a real A hole. PDR guy can probably do a lot. I would also get a local detail guy (not the cleaning car kinda guy) but the kind hat does paint correction. They are amazing in looking at the paint, and let you know if that white stuff is transfer paint or if it is damaged beyond your clear coat. Whatever you do, don't touch it and clean it and stuff and cause more damage or swirl marks. Let a paint correction detail shop guy take a look. They do wonders.

Sorry to hear about your problem. We, the MB owners at MBworld are mostly a bit **** about protecting our investment and its beauty. After you go through the PDR and / or body shop repair whatever works best for you, try to take precautions on where you park. Please go through this thread or related threads on how to minimize the potential for door dings for a given situation. These are not fool proof methods but somewhat logical and reduce your chances, unless some idiot is really looking for your car.

That does not look like an accident to me, someone would have to slam their door with all their might to make a dent that big. That dent is right on the crease, PDR might have hard time with that one.

I've seen wangers like that when it's really windy and the door gets away from your parking neighbor. To just drive away after that happens however, is really rude.
