Inoperative after car wash

I went through a gas station touchless car wash. Afterwards, my lane keeping assist and blind spot assist are now "inoperative." Anyone else had this happen? Should I expect that they will be functional in the morning or is this a sure dealer visit? And if so, is this a warranty item? TIA.

This could be a warranty item

There is a tsb for this -- bad corroded wiring harnesses

Would just take to dealer if continues but if it clears up then you're fine

Sh*t, I've been going to these for awhile now, I haven't seen any kind of damage... but I guess I'll stop just to be safe.

I knew touchless car washes had chemicals that could damage the trim, but I didn't realize the manual actually had an explicit warning against it. Oh well. No time to do it myself and no desire to pay 5x to have a handwash done. Thanks, though.

This morning the car started and no warnings. Both systems operational again. My wife said that when it rains heavily the systems shut off because the cameras aren't able to clearly "see." Maybe it's a normal feature of the standard operation of the two systems?

Inoperative is a different problem than if the dash says "temporarily unavailable"

But bigger picture is that if it occurs again you need to take it in

I think when it has happened in the past it said it was "inoperative," not "temporarily unavailable." I'll ask my wife. I guess I'll bring it in next time, but if it clears on its own, will it store an error code? Otherwise, won't the dealer just tell me that it's working and that they can't help?

Error code will be stored even if it starts working again.

OK, thanks. I'll bring it in sometime within the next couple weeks. Hopefully it is a warranty item...

Blind spot monitoring does not use camera, it uses radar sensors installed in all four corners of the car so it is not about visibility during heavy rain.

You are probably somehow getting water in the wiring during rain. I would definitely take the car in for repair. It is a warranty item if your car is still under warranty.

Thanks. I'll mention that to them when I bring it in.
