--just replaced my steering wheel and controller not working-- help

So I just replaced my steering wheel and it was an easy job but my controlls not working.. Horn not working.. Paddle shifter not working... Everything was plug and play but I asked a tech of mine and he said the 3 pins need to be changed??? The airbag pins I don't think matter at this situation.. The pins are on 4,5,6 and 1,2,3 empty

Can anyone chime in??

My car is a 2012 e350 bluetec

Here is my old steering wheel so I don't think I could interchange anything out of it due to different shape.

I have been contemplating this swap but haven't pulled the trigger yet. The above link will take you to some info I saved that you may find useful.

Good luck.

By the way, your new steering wheel looks great!

According to that thread, you need to swap the controller boards where all the wires lead to. Hopefully it is of the same dimensions.

Yah the boards are square on the new one and round on the old one not sure how that's going to work

Time to bust out the dremel and glue gun. Or try to locate the correct contact board.

Sorry for the dumb question, did you purchased the wrong model one? Like 2014 ones for a 2013 car? If so, don't you think you need a convertor plug/adapters? I have 2014 and my controls look like your replacement steering wheel.
The PO cheaper out on steering, the one thing iwe use for 95% of the car..! Lol
How much did you pay for it btw?

Send it back to the company that sold you the wrong wheel. You have minimal options here.

I do not know, I just got mine a week ago,
BTW, I would like to know how much did you pay for it?
I'm in the market for one, either wood trim or similar to yours. I found one, but he is asking 400$, doesn't look brand new, so, I want to wait or know more options.

Thanks.

Cool, that is a nice find.
Are you doing it on your own? Is that easy to do?

Does the original control board still work? I am surprised your car didn't come with the sports wheel considering it is the sports trim? Do you have the lane departure option?

Alright I friken did it. It was in my hands the whole time lol My own pcb board which I pulled apart and it was a friken direct swap even thought the contact plate was different... Boom I took the pcb out of my old wheel and slipped it in the new steering wheel pcb spot and walaaa. Everything works like a charm.

So now people can check this out and get whatever wheel they want as long as its shaped like mine and it will work without a problem. All you do is take your own PCB board and put it in the new wheel and your all set..

Mission accomplished in my end

well i thought you were saying to swap out the whole contact plate which is completely different... since i saw that they are both different a immediately assumed that the PCB board is different too and than i was just sitting here and saying to my self let me pull my old wheel apart and see just curious. Come to find out they are the friken same. ughhhh
