Replaced rear bags...still dropping overnight
When I bought my e550 2 months ago it would lower all the way in the rear if it sat for 3+ days.
that turned into overnight.
so I installed both new rear bags.
well it still lowers all the way in the rear overnight!
any ideas? I will spray down all airlines with soapy water but what other part/s in the system can cause this?

I think there is an air reservoir tank on the rear right side that sometimes has a leaking corroded connection. I'm just trying to go from memory here. I hope you find the leak quickly.

soooooo, where is the part that always farting/blowing off air. I don't see it. I can hear it in driver rear quarter though.
I feel that unit shouldn't be blowing off the amount of air it does. Or maybe leak is in that solenoid. Idk.
tonight I'm going to pump up the system then disconnect the battery and see if it drops. If not I can say it's something electrical/solenoid.

I'm not sure where that purge valve is, but there must be a diagram on this site somewhere or ask Konigstiger to post up the schematic. I don't see too many W212 models with Airmatic issues. You could post something in the W211 section and perhaps get some better help from guys that are dealing with Airmatic issues. That would be my recommendation. I replaced one rear strut on my W211 and nothing on my 2010 W212. My current W212 is without Airmatic.

Well I just squeezed in an hour diagnosis at mercedes dealer. I'd keep at it myself but I'm heading south for next weds. Going to be doing 1000+ miles. Want to make sure I have no issues.
AAA doesn't go that far. Ha.
$165 an hour. I told them I just want to know problem and I'll be fixing myself.
I'm guessing it's something electrical telling it to lower rear for some reason.
one thing.....my garage is on a 3"ish pitch from front wheels to rear. Stupid question but could it be trying to level out ride height while car is off??

As far as I know, airmatic does not have level sensor. All adjust per suspension height.
Than even if the bag valve leaks, the system has check valve at the pump, so it would take 2 (or more) leaky valves to lower the suspension.
I will wait what dealer say. Don't expect much, dealers like to give lot of BS when they can fix the issue by punching couple of keys on their computers.

I did not try to park on level surface.
I'm sitting and waiting at dealer now. Hoping for good news.
I'm going to take quick stab at it. Pressure reduction valve on compressor. The car seems to blow off quite a bit of air when it's just parked and off.

I did, however, only begin to notice it when it was colder outside and when I started parking the vehicle outside of the garage. You mentioned you were traveling south, and I don't see your location listed in your sig or profile---so maybe you are in a colder northern climate?
Does your car r(a)ise and lower properly with the console switch? Hope the dealer can find your issue.

Update
So mercedes found no leaks or problem in system.
I knew there wasn't a leak as I tested all that prior with bubble test.
They said in this case mercedes recommends replacing the airmatic valve block. This is part right behind rear bumper that has all air lines running to it. They said water in the system causes internals to malfunction.
So I ordered one for $362.00
what other choice do I have i guess.
They would not give me a copy of all the work performed at mercedes on my car but let me look through all the details. Car had more flat tires than I've ever seen! Ha. On the other the car has had everything maintained very well up until I purchased I have 28k before any big service.

Yes. This is your issue. Replace the valve block and it should solve your problem. Sorry I didn't see this before you spent money to be told there's to leaks. Really easy to change

hope so. I was sure there was no leaks as I tested numerous times. But I did not test any electronics. Mercedes said there is no test for the valve block. That seems crazy to me. I'm a Toyota guy and there are tests for every piece of the puzzle. Ah well.

My w211 was doing same thing and I replaced that valve and it's way better. Used to drop to bump stops if I didn't park it on level ground. Don't know why but the valve fixed it. It still drops an inch but not to stops.
