w212 2011 esc inoperative

I bought mercedes w212 2011 recently, but out of the sudden I faced a problem where the car shows me "esc inoperative" message then the car become very heavy and it doesn't take acceleration at all where it is stuck to 15-20 km/h..
i went to a technician and he said it is the throttle sensor, so we got it changed and everything worked fine, after two months the same problem occurred and we got the part changed again, but yesterday the problem appeared again !!
so please would anyone tell me what to do?

PS: if i drive the car for about 15 km with this error, the car will slowly accelerates faster then i turn it off and start the engine, the problem is gone and i can drive normally. But just leave the car for 2 hours and the problem appears again.

this is the picture of the throttle that i changed twice

ESC is electronic stability control not sure why the tech was changing out the throttle and/or position sensor.
ESC inoperative is indicating the traction control is not working. This should be able to tracked to a specific wheel sensor issue, electronic module problem or reflash needed etc. May be worthwhile to get the car scanned with MB specific software. Sometimes aggressive driving that gets a brief wheelspin can trigger the code momentarily but sounds like you have not yet found the root cause.

Take it to an MB dealer and get the car scanned. They should be able to give you a specific MB code and you can go from there. Or did the mechanic scan it and come up with some codes? You can also get some aftermarket scanners, but the ones that do MB specific codes are a bit more than regular OBDII scanners which just do engine and emissions codes, not other sub systems. Your esc inoperative is one of those subsystems.

Lots of other possibilities too, steering angle sensor, yaw sensor etc. For power loss, probably not those items, would probably need a more specific MB code.

yes, absolutely which is why he needs MB specific scan as we both mentioned. TPS is sort of an end user in this particular case.

This is not the dealer, this is my tech and today he changed the acceleration pedal..
But still the problem is as it is!!
When he does a test for the throttle valve actuator it gives messages as follows:
* voltage of signal 1 of accelerator pedal sensor
* voltage of signal 1 of throttle valve actuator
* voltage of signal 2 of throttle valve actuator
all of these are low voltages around 0.5 where it should be a higher voltage...

so please any idea what would be the solution ?

I have no idea of what those voltages are supposed to be. But it sounds like he is replacing parts hoping they will fix it. Nothing against your tech but maybe dealer can focus on further on diagnosis including wiring issues.
also not sure what parts you are using, are they oem or aftermarket? Sometimes they fit but are not exact quality replacement.

As suggested have someone pull codes with MB DAS if steadfast on circumventing you can try OEM replacements: TVA 1131410125, ESP CU 2129005906, and OS 0035427018.

- M16/6: http://workshop-manuals.com/mercedes...ent_locations/
- ESP control unit (N30/40) is attached to hydraulic unit, check connection pins before replacing.
- Oxygen sensor 1/bank 2 = left (driver side) front of catalyst

For first time connection of the throttle valve actuator control unit carries out automatically within approx. 60 seconds the following actions:
- determines the emergency running position
- determines lower mechanical stop
- matches the actual value amplifier (signal 1 and 2) in the MESFI [ME] control unit.
- checks the return spring (always takes place when ignition ON) Prerequisite: gear P or N, vehicle stationary, engine OFF, ignition ON, coolant temperature 5 °C to 100 °C and accelerator pedal not operated.

The procedure must be activated with STAR DIAGNOSIS, if the throttle valve actuator or the ME-SFI [ME] control unit was replaced.

Not that you don't have a problem on the engine/engine management side, however it appears that scan/set of code may only be for the engine vs the entire car. (Not based on the faults listed, but at the top of the screen you will see the category being motor electronics). You may want to rescan the car. Identify the vehicle in Xentry using the VIN, and utilize the quick test option which will cover the entire vehicle vs system by system.

Hello all;

I am new to this forum, I usually only read and find solutions, everyone is great in participating.

This time i have a question, Did you finally found a solution? I had a similiar problem and was about to change the throttle valve, as it is the only part that will not pass the tests, but after reading you changed it twice and did not solve your problem, i am hestitating.

hope you can recall what solved your problem!!!

thanks in advance
