Yes very close, maybe a millimeter further spread but not much, they were a little puckered but a seamstress friend said that would flatten out when it was installed a while and reminded me I could use a heat gun sparingly and massage them flat.
My sides are the same as yours, so not the tight woven velour, but as you mentioned earlier you won't see the console side or the front because of the storage box and the door side is a very small exposure, this might get me points deducted at Pebble Beach, but I don't think it's going to be noticeable at all. I also may have mentioned I will take the old one to be re-sewn, I am kinda fussy about stuff like this, but it is a 7-8 year old car now. My seats are black so that also is an easier color than tan where everything shows more prominently.

I put mine in because I decided I could get past the stitching and little things, but once I got it in, the wrinkles were pretty bad. They've settled down some, but it's just too much. I'm returning mine. Guess I'm biting the $300 bullet for a OEM

Thanks for the link, I found that I can get it for $275 after shipping from mercedesbenzstarparts.com. The fact they're in CA means quick shipping for me too. It's not the $230 everyone else is talking about, but I won't sneeze at saving $25.

Yes, that won't do, I hear upholstery is an art, one I certainly don't possess! I guess the upside is it will go much quicker next time, Damn. Not much consolation in that though, Damn.

I think the art is in building the covers like these. Installing it was difficult but very straightforward. You'll feel it in your thumbs I suspect the problem is the OEM covers are far more precise in the assembly, whereas these are "pretty close". I noticed even the seam down the middle of the perforated part isn't sewed the same way.
A word of advise, when it comes to the last part where you have to pull the leather over the metal lip, start at the ends on the sides near the back and work your way forward. When you get to the front, stop and pull the middle of the front over, then work your way to the sides. You'll have to pull the sides off and redo them, but it was nearly impossible to pull the front center over without the sides in place.

Sending mine back today, put it on this morning and zero wrinkles, just the opposite, way too tight, front to back was short by an inch and by the time I got the sides in, it popped all the interior bolster clips, used steam to stretch to no avail. kicking myself for being stupid and ordered the OEM from mercedesbenzstarparts.com.

Yes, I was excited that I got the cover on and there were zero wrinkles, then I tried to get all the bottoms secured, no chance, I fought for hours and lost. Now my thumbs hurt and I'm out of a driver's seat for a week until the new OE cover arrives. I'm not going to put it all back together and do it all again next weekend, I will just wait for the cover and we will drive the '12 all week. Maybe it's just the luck of the draw, but I actually would have been happier with Atraudes results, then I could have steamed out the wrinkles? Or it would have meant even more wasted time, go figure... I should know better.

Yup, the stitching is something that took me a moment to realize well after it was in, the black hid the shadows. I didn't have too much issue getting it all wrapped up, a bit tight, but a second set of hands helped a lot.
I'm going to live with it for a while and order the correct one later.
Existing "Factory" passenger
"New" driver, all flat, but the material is a good match

I agree, the materials were fine, the perimeter seam stitching was less per inch but close, maybe if I got two more hands to help, but the quality of the cover was pretty good. If I could have got it on, I would have kept it, Just couldn't even come close by myself.

I got my OEM one in and installed yesterday and my god what a difference. The fit was so much better. It still wasn't easy to install, but everything just fit the way it should. There's a few wrinkles and the middle crease is still settling into it's folded position, but so far so good. I'm sure in a few days it'll be fine.

Mine came out ok too, I think I'll steam those four seams to see of I can get them to smooth out, but other than that pretty happy finally, I was exited when the seat heaters worked as well!

Hey all, picking up a garage find E550 that was not well treated soon and looking to replace a few of the leather components. Having a tricky time finding the correct part number for the brown interior seat cover though... I see beige, black and grey as well as "with leather marrakesh" whatever that means but I don't see the brown leather. Perhaps it's not available?

Drivers seat, cushion cover: A212 910 31 46 8N54 back cover: A212 910 57 47 8N54
Passenger seat: cushion: A212 910 24 06 8N54 (*) back cover: A212 910 62 47 8N54
that passenger seat part number is the whole cushion, the leather cover in 8N54 Marrakesh is unobtanium. weird, it says your passenger seats are 'Active Multicontour' ?
8N54 is "Marrakesh" leather, which is chassis code 264A.

When you are looking up codes and part numbers, would you mind finding them for my VIN also?

I need bottom seat covers for both the driver and the passenger, and haven't done it yet because I didn't know the right color code.
