Model Year Motors
I know 2014 Model year was a big technology refresh. One of the largest upgrades mid series ever for MB.
I have the 2011 E550 4 Matic. A very powerful car.
Was the 5.5 Liter bi-turbo called E550 for one or two model years ... 2012 and 2013?
I ask because E550 soon became a 4.7 Liter bi-turbo - was that in 2014?
Or was the 5.5 Liter NA motor still the E550 and 5.5 Liter bi-turbo called the E63?

The early years of the W213 (2017+) were pretty stripped down, E300 and E43, but now there's the E450 and E53 options with more power. Probably due to rollback on CAFE mandates.
What build year did the E-350 W212 switch to the M276 (direct injection) from the previous M272?
Is one or the other considered a better motor?

- 5.5 L normally aspirated V8, model years 2010 to 2013
- 4.7 L turbocharged V8, model years 2014 to 2016 .... correct?
The E63 AMG was
6.2 L normally aspirated V8, model years 2010 to 2013
And
5.5 L turbocharged V8, from 2014 to 2016 model years ... right?
The E550 was never a 5.5 Liter turbo. Did I get that right?
