E250 coupe 2014
Wheel question ?
Hi , I have just bought my first Mercedes which is an e250 coupe 2014 - w212.
I would love to know If i can swap the 235 x18 fronts and 255x18 rears for winter wheels next yr , I have seen some 245x17's will these fit / be safe to fit for winter use ? Thanks and kind regards - John.

Why would you want FATTER tires for Winter use? You didn't say where you live, but when I lived in St.Louis, a narrower tire cut throuth the snow better.

The skinny tires on old VW beetles are a perfect example. They went everywhere in snow>

If you have the Sport package you may need 18" wheels to fit over the calipers.I'm pretty sure that is the case with 2016's

Exactly. The weight of the rear-mounted engine over the skinny tires was the ticket. I owned a 1st gen Honda Accord when we got 7" of snow in St.Louis one winter. The Beetles and my FWD Honda -- and its engine over the skinny tires -- left everyone else far behind. It was beyond funny.

I have 17” wheels on my 2010 E550, which I understand has bigger brakes than E350.

I got the heads up on wheel sizes and fit over calipers from the service advisor at dealership.
Good to double check depending on model year

I have Sport package and already check that 16" wheels from W211 fit just fine.
They have different offset, but I actually like the car with wheels sticking out more than factory design.
So 16" is what I'd recommend. More fishtailing, but way much better comfort.
