Where is the auxiliary battery located on the 2014 E350? I’ve seen people post in the trunk, and some people post by the driver side dash area. Can someone help?

Welcome! Please post a photo of the E350.

WIS says it's in the left (driver's) end of the instrument panel, accessed by removing the end cover of the instrument panel, and a cover outboard of the brake pedal in the pedal box area.

Got "Auxiliary Battery Malfunction" last week. Dealer replaced Auxiliary Battery under warranty yesterday. Part number 000-982-96-08 is called "STARTER BATTERY",

the auxiliary battery is located on the passenger side of trunk for a 2014 E350 sport. I do not know if it is the same for Luxury model but I changed mine and it was in the trunk.

Does anyone know the difference for the battery designations? Essentially we can buy group 400 batteries with 200 CCA, otherwise listed or marketed as AUX14 batteries. These are almost identical to sports or motorcycle batteries as in CYTX14-BS or CYTX or ATX batteries, here is an example..

Interstate Batteries CYTX14-BS 12V 12Ah Powersports Battery Cycle-Tron Rechargeable Replacement AGM Battery for Motorcycles, ATV, UTV, Scooters, Snowmobiles, Batteries - Amazon Canada Interstate Batteries CYTX14-BS 12V 12Ah Powersports Battery Cycle-Tron Rechargeable Replacement AGM Battery for Motorcycles, ATV, UTV, Scooters, Snowmobiles, Batteries - Amazon Canada

This looks essentially identical even to the voltage and dimensions, is this ok to use instead?

Buying electrical components from the dealer is always the best option. Why are you looking elsewhere? To save money? If you are in GTA, MB parts availability should best the best there is in Canada.

almost similar...
Make sure your AUX replacement has a VENT HOLE to pipe hydrogen outside.

This detail is a non-issue for outdoor motorsport vehicles, for cars it's a must have.

The dealer is the most expensive to buy a battery from. They state you need to have the battery kept charged while changing the battery and they charge you for that plus the high cost of batteries there. On my E350 I took batteries out went to pep boys and came back and put them it. NO loss of anything while batteries were out. Pep boys would have taken them out and replaced them for no cost for labor. Instead of dealers they should be called stealers. Cannot understand why you would suggest using the Stealer for a simple battery change.

many people are afraid to upset grimlins by poping their hood. Melting a wrench is a long lived mistery that lurks around to deal with (-) & (+)

Rebooting these cars once a month is a very good practice to prevent bug corps from hogging memory🤘

To get the right part, fresh. I DIY most things automotive so Pep Boys' or other installation service has no bearing on my decision.

Buying aftermarket electrical parts is false economy.

I don't. I would all all MB dealers within a two hour driving radius of your location. Maybe from London to Ottawa.

Quote: they’re AGM batteries so shouldn’t need a vent hole - that I can see however.
Ohhh am I wrong. So to answer my own question...... the AUX14 group size 400 battery that sits in our Mercedes appears to have a vent hole in it. The ATV and Motorcycle batteries do not. Looks like I'm buying from Interstate or Canadian Tire here if the dealership is too expensive...

Solved...

that a boy ! 👏
Many people use motorcycle batteries because they look appealing to them.

Glad we could help you enjoy a safe ownership.
We make suggestions, then people take decisions.

FYI: the W212 AUX batt can off gaz under marginal Benz operations.
When the power yoyo bleeds 90Amp from Main,
the AUX cuts in to help before voltage jumps with 90Amp charge... kills both batts.
