Airmatic Compressor Filter Location?

I'm doing an enormous amount of preventative maintenance, and figured I would replace the air filter for the air compressor on my 4Matic air suspension so I don't have to deal with an impending failed compressor. Everything works as expected, but with recent high winds blowing dust everywhere for weeks, plus the 127k miles, I figured it's time to replace this filter. Where would this filter be located on a 2010 E550 with 4M?

Just follow the rubber hose that is connected to the compressor and you will find the filter.

Inspect the filter when you are on it. I did that on 2004 model and MB used fuel filter put in reverse. I think mine was original and at 10 years at the time, the filtering element shrank inside, making a gap that would let unfiltered air go bypass. The reversed installation was opening the gap, instead of closing it.
The filter had different diameter ends, so I could not reverse it. I think MB butchered the design.

Looks like it's still just a fuel filter lol. This is definitely going on my todo list. Thanks for the heads up!

Filter was not bad, pretty sure this never have been changed out before for mine 2012 180.000 kilometers.

10$ filter and about 15 minutes labor.

HOW TO!

Again, filter installed in reverse collects dirt inside, while on video you have only outside shown.
Also video doesn't show any checking for bypass gap. When air was bypassing the filter elements, they will stay clean.
